Spooky thrower barb |

I made a lvl 30 thrower, his java is invisible, and he himself blink in and out while double throwing. Spooky and fun.

My 27 java barb threw them invisible also, not for my computer but knarl and the other guy in the game said they were as well.

Yeah, it is pretty weird. Makes it really hard to aim when you can't see the barb half the time. Gotta rely on the minimap most of the time.
It would be pretty fun to exploit though.
ShadowThrower, lvl 38 throw barb
Uses Darksight Helm and its cloak of shadows charges to blind his opponent, and then with his buggy double throw makes it nearly impossible to see him.

I wouldn't mind that trick being used in legit duel, vs other range type of course.

Of course. Barbs can't be lvl 38 in tourneys or in LLD in general. I just suggested it as a mildly entertaining mid lvl barb idea.

I think str glitching for throw babas is quite unfair, and should be banned. Pansy's level 14 throw barb owned my level 19 melee barb because I couldn't dodge his invisible javas, nor could I target his invisible char.
Then again, this is something left for the PvP rules discussion

It works for both. You see the throwing animation, and you see them blink out and in.
It also works with double swing. I fought a double swing glitch barb, and he had the same benefits.

This happens because of the display bug. Fists are what is shown on the barbarian instead of javas due to reliance on str or dex to meet the requirements of desired throwing weapon.
Now here's the technical part:
Skills like Guided arrow or Zeal share the same animation as the "Normal Attack" animation. Fists have a "Normal Attack" animation, so you can see things like zons punching guided arrows ala Ghouls N Ghosts style or a paladin playing the role of Rocky, and neither will go invisible. However, Fists do not have a "Throwing" animation or a "Second Swing" animation, so things like double throw and double swing have a conflict with the fists. The game tries to find a non-existing fist attack animation, but can't find it, so the character goes invisible for the duration of the attack. It also breaks clicklocks from what I'm told.
Other characters with throwing weapons doing single handed throwing would probably also go invisible if they used +dex or +str to meet item requirements.
It could be worse: Invisible throwing could crash everyone else out of the game.
I guess this would be the only real pull for using a throw barb. Both their damage and AR are bugged in that they actually have less of each than listed. Shame, too, I was a very big throw barb fan back in 1.09.
