Hey,

im just thinkin about makin a high defense char for melee only duels in escnl.
so im tending to make a con barb or a defiance zealot.

assuming that both are equally (very good) equipped/skilled/ w/e, who would win more duels?

im just really unexperienced in melee dueling as it doesnt really exist in europe ... so i think with godly eq the defense rating of both should be ~the same amount (right)?
so would the speed of a zealot balance out the dmg/life advantage of a concer or is it more or less hopeless?
or do offensive zealers stand a better chance?

please help me, thx in advance

is there any chartype that can compete with a concer if both are godly equipped?
or is the lld melee league actually a bvb league? :-/

hmm how do eth runes work in weapons ?
i thought this wasnt possible anymore since 09?

The defensive Zealot needs like 40 ias in the weapon to hit the right fps with deaths set so the 5 eth thing is probably out the door,also ar is a big problem with the defensive Zealot since u would probably be useing defiance. I played a defensive zealot for a very long time his stats were 19k def,1k life. Zeal was at 1k damage//5.6k AR and it was VERY rare that i beat a high defense Barb because they get Defense AND AR w/o realy sacrificeing anything.IMO Barb is the easy more reliable build. Defensive Zealot would have to be decked out in TOTALY godly gear//Jwls for it to work properly,and then it still would loose to a Barb of equaly godly gear.

Go for the barb or.......make a 20k Defense Smiter and own all melee accept mebee godly range 5 kikrs//Druids.

so just to check if i got it right...
with final def you mean the def AFTER shout/holy shield ?
so this means if i duel for example a 10k def chars and got 6*eth weap, his def will be 2.5k ?

lol my defiant zealot beat i forgot who it was one of the godlier llds like breakbeatz or zolas or someone if i remember right. it was close everytime and i was no where close to godly gear. it was a while back but i remember the duel i may of ended up losing in the the end but it was by like 1 duel or something. and for anyone curious this is what i used.

helm 45max crown
armor eth glitched 4os ancient armor -30req 2-30 dmg
weap 16 max dmg clegaws
shield 5xed/11xar 60 max dmg
boot/belt/gloves sigons for all of them and death when i need cbf
charms- couple 15's and 4-6 fine life gc's

im no where close to godly but it wasnt like i was comepletly blown out of the water. **IMO** a very well geard defiant zealot would win agaisnt a conc barb

edit: the crown is 45 max dmg not 60 lol

Assuming you were asking about level 27-30, I would say a barb has the edge.

At level 18, I would be inclined to say a Zealot might break even, or even take the advantage.

at 18 zealot over barb at 27-30 id say barb over zealot and my post is about a lvl 18 defiant zealot
