How much run/walk is the limit? How much will it take until it makes little or no difference after I get more?
+ if I use velocity from vigor what's that mean? :S

r/w in Diablo 2 is based in yards.
An 800 x 600 resolution screen transfers into 16.7 yards wide and 23 yards high.
Base speeds are as follows:
Walking: 4 Yards/sec
Running: 6 Yards/sec (Running is always Walk + 2)
Charging: 9 Yards/sec (Charge is unaffected by item frw)
Item frw is subject to diminishing returns. A full table of r/w % can be found at http://wirsz.phpwebhosting.com/General.htm (note that the 250-290 frw is incorrect, it should be +1)
Skill Frw (Increased Speed, Vigor) add in a different way; there is no diminishing return.
For each one point of skill frw, run/walk speed is increased .04 yards/sec, and charge speed is increased .09 yards/sec.
So, to calculate your total run/walk speed, do the following.
1. Add up your total frw% from all items/charms.
2. Determine your armor weight, and shield weight.
3. Cross-reference on the table to find your item-based frw in yards/sec.
4. Mulitply your skill-based frw by .04 to convert to yards/sec
5. Add the item-based frw and the converted skill based frw. This is the total, in yards/sec that your character will travel.
For charging speeds, do the following:
1. Determine your armor weight and shield weight.
2. For each Medium piece, subtract .45 yards/sec, for each heavy subtract .90 yards/sec
3. Multiply your skill-based frw by .04 to convert to yards/sec.
4. Add Base speed (9 yards/sec), skill frw in yards/sec, and subtract your armor/shield modifiers, if any. This is your charging frw speed.
There are two big dropoff points in the frw tables. At 100% frw, the increase drops to .04 yards/sec for each addtional 5% frw added. At 260%, an additional 10% frw will only yeild a .04 yard/sec increase.
I assume you're asking this for desynch purposes. It takes far too much frw to run at the base charging speed. A character with a full inventory of 5 frw sc's, 30 frw circlet, 10 frw blood ammy, 30 frw boots and a blinkbats to match the speed of a base charge.
Capped frw? I didnt see it in the rules, but I cant see it making a huge difference. If someone wants to lose 600 extra life from charms to run around like a goofball, more power to them.

Running: 10.56 yards/sec
Walking: 8.56 yards/sec
Charging: 10.98 yards/sec
Kinda funny isnt it? 240 frw and you're still going slower than a skill that isnt even effected by item frw.

you could probably charge with zero frw and beat guided, a teleporting sorc would beat any runner easy i think

No to telesorcs, not sure about guided.
Sorcs can get exactly 1/2 of a screen (11.5 yards) in one cast. More if they namelock or scroll. ~3 casts a second (9 framish cast) will give them a speed of 34.5 yards/sec. Good luck matching that one.
I have no idea how fast guided arrow travels, but if you can find out, it shouldn't be hard to tell if you can outrun it.

well if you think abuot being ingame on a pally, and seeing a zon shoot at you, it's natural to feel that if you charged in the opposite direction, you could outrun it, for me it was natural at least, so i think that you could outrun it, because i think you can charge away from it and not get hit in a duel

The main plan for this speed is to be in, hit, out, in, hit, out, in, hit, out.. The desired effect is that I do not get hit.
I also have a few other fun builds planned for the charms I get..
Speed Throw Barb
Speed Bow Zon
Speed Assassin
Etc, Just for fun..

Dont forget that your def goes down when you run and a pally doesnt have evade to help counter that little quirk.

Don't forget that I'll be moving so fast that you wont hit me..
Also, I thought it was block, not defence.

Block drops to 1/3, defense is unaffected.
I'm not sure if charge counts as running for this.
The walk speed of such a character is just a tad bit slower than a base charge, so it shouldnt make much of a difference.
