PostPosted: Mon Jun 21, 2004 4:45 am    Post subject:  Level 15 Bash Barb...

Was just thinking of a level 15 barb who is a basher.

Skills were pretty simple, wanted to know if this could work.

15 Axe mastery
13 Bash

Not sure about equip, mostly weap though.

6 "Ith" War Axe
4 x Ruby Gothic Armor
3 x Ruby Barb helm /w bash/mastery
Umbral Disk
Death's Gloves*
Death's Sash*
Angelics
Treads of Cthon

*About death's equip... the breakpoint while using a war axe is 30 ias, and of course death's will give 30 ias.. but does that actually give me the breakpoint?

Hopefully this guy will have decent damage, and also i'm trying to break over 1k. I"m sure i can, as my level 9 barb has 558 life ^_^

Help/suggestions please

Smile

Maybe consider an Ith'd V1.09 Azurewrath instead of the war axe?
Lower str requirements, faster (i think?), 40ish damage and 50% deadly strike. Level 15 req'd so would suit your build as well.

Or a cleg sword it has 50%ds aswell as 40% bonus to ar. Maybe at level 15 you could try using stun maybe that would be cool, then you have more points for shout too. Maybe an ethereal "malice" Great Sword and just keep remaking them as they break.. Should be fairly decent damage with 100%open wounds. Steel flamberge is always an option too, open wounds, ar, pretty quick.

you may want to considering investing some points into shout.

I read it but I didn't think that an axe was your best option and you asked for suggestions o.O If you have your heart set on an axe, or anything, no matter what the case, don't dare settle for a 6 Ith weapon Sad. At least get some with ar or even small ed or something, smoe jewels I mean. Ith's are just too plain and bad.

if dragon is on hardcore like godz seems to think he is, then iths are alot cheaper/easier to come by/not that big of a loss when you die than 9max jewels are. thats most likely why hes using iths.

Correct.

Why would i waste 6 x 9 max jewels, when an ith does the same thing, but cheaper?

I dunno :/ That's like saying why try hard and beat everyone, when I can just use average gear and beat most of them but not all. I can see using ith's on a test build o.O But whatever is your cup of tea I guess we just think different ways oh well!! And I would listen to voices and consider at least 1 point into shout it is quite useful

ever played hardcore belarathon? lol. when you die, you start over. if you invested alot into a character and then died, youd cry. but if you invest mediocre gear and die, its not a big deal. its like using an eth weapon, get the most amount of duels you can out of it, then make another.

Ya I know you lose everything, but what would the point be of even llding if you know you're only gonna use ith's and all that. If you find a 14max/20ed/40ar/-15%req lvl 9 jewel you can't even use it because you're too scared to die you you just use ith's instead? >.< I'm aware that it sucks to lose the stuff, but there's no sense in being so uptight about it that you can never make an above average dueler because of it. I don't know... It's probably just me, I'm weird like that. I couldn't bring myself to play a char with an Ith'd axe. You could die and lose your ith's and lose the respect, where you could have easily lived had youj ust gone for the good stuff, and if you die withthe good stuff, you get upset, but it keeps you interested in the game because you have to get all that stuff again! I dunno, I just don't see the point of making a dueler if you're not gonna give it your all!
