My answer: No, the river is a RIVER. You ever see a river that doesnt FLOW!? the boat go down river and into rapids and break. Consider this river to be a real river. I said river not a little water crossing. Jumping from a tree onto a boat... yeah a good tactic... if you CANT SWIM.

My answer: no! He chops down the OAK tree with what? his teeth?

My answer: You did not read the riddle properly.."1 boat which can only transfer one person at a time to the other side." So in theory, yes that would work, not for this riddle.

QUESTION:
2 soldiers (who do not know how to swim) walk up to a river.
In the river there is only 1 boat which can only transfer one person at a time to the other side.
Next to the river grows an oak tree. They have no weapons of any kind.
How did both men cross the river?
