What helms have you used? I'd like to get an idea of what people prefer, since preference is usually a good indicator of what's best. I assume an Artisan's of [+life] is best, but that's just my own speculation.

Ive never made a lvl 27 one, but I have a lvl 15 one. Aside from a plain +45 max helm, you could consider sigons, along with sigon gloves. It gives +mana and +ar, which is really helpful for chargers. Sigon gloves provide IAS if you have a zeal switch.

Sigs is decent and can help a bit. The ias gain is very important if you are blocked and happen to be too close to execute another charge. In that situation, you will instead perform a "normal" attack, which can be really slow if you are using a high dmg but slow weapon. You will need to be able to quickly swing and charge away or you'll get pummeled.

For a helm on a lvl 27 charger, I suggest a 3 socketed helm with 10% fhr or 30 attack rating or some other nice mod. I was just thinkin about the jewels to put in it.

Does anyone know exactly how 20% enhanced dmg jewels work? If you have an ethereal partizan that does 51-112 base and use 20% ed jewels in your armor and helm, would each jewel add 10.2-22.5? If so, this one be one REALLY cheap way to make a charger (or maybe an insight ww barb). Heck, I think you can actually get 20% ed 8 min dmg jewels. If that is true, would that be like an 18-23 dmg jewel? That would be CRAZY!!!

2os visionary helm of the sun with 2x 15 max jewels would be best, but since its hard to get both mods one one helm. you could shop a couple plain visionary helm and keep socketing untill 2os you get 27% bonus ar and only lose 1 jewel slot.

also a bet on a pure charger a 15 max would add more damage then a 20ed jewel, on my lvl 30 charger (i made on ladder for fun) a 15max added 200+ dmg (max might, 18 into charge)

last ladder i had a nice 30 pub killer hada rare circlet 30frw max dmg and 2 soc i did nice dmg with full inventory of 10 max gcs and 3 max sc with jwl armor idi 7.6k if i rem right

idsay try and finda 30 frw rare u need the speed to escape death

10 FHR (of balance) is better than 20 life (of wolf)

saves you 2 x 5 fhr scs which = 15 life scs unless you already obtain enough FHR without the use of scs or shaels

a rather common artisans helm ive seen (and happen to own one of on ladder) is one with 3 sockets and + to energy. seems like this could be very useful on charger to help with the mana situation. just my tidbit.

Thanks for the replies, folks. I'm using an Insight, so the energy idea's kinda overdoing it, but the FHR or AR over +life makes a lot of sense.

nah only if its really good imho. that means 10%ds / 2sock / 10fhr or so...
