i've checked out most of the lld necro threads and this is what i've come up with...

+2pnb, +20% frw circlet w/ other good mods
2pnb, 36life, 43mana ammy(only thing i have so far)
Vipermagi w/35res, 13mdr
15dr/15mdr SoE
magefists
sanders boots
pnb necro skills head w/ 2sockets for rhyme

spirit cs w/ 100+mana, 8magic absorb
insight staff on switch

enough frw scs to get 100frw
res of scs, mana/life

need suggestions/opinions on overall build and a belt vs casters? since the SoE is vs melee

Here are the Necro FCR frames:

0% 15
9% 14
18% 13
30% 12
48% 11
75% 10
125% 9

I'd try to get to 125%, although it may be harder if you don't have FCR on your ammy. But your skill allocation looks all right to me, just at a glance.

I agree with Roy. In order to gain some FCR, craft a caster belt. With a little luck, you can get a nice one.
I've had several LLD necros and have never had a problem from not usng a SOE. With a good skill layout (like yours) your bone armor and 75% block should be plenty.

ok that's good to know...like i've said, i just read a couple topics saying that the difference between 125fcr and less stats/life/mana is worse than having 75fcr and more stats/life/mana...ty for help

ok so i'm not going for the frw helm but the fcr one...should i still go for 100frw? subtracting 20frw from the helm means 7 more frw scs...obviously i would have liked to use mana/life scs instead so...what would be a "good enough" frw?

I can't really speak for a "good enough" r/w speed, but the returns diminish pretty quickly. If I ever made a level 30 necro, I'd probably use Sander's and like 10 r/w charms. Any more seems like overkill to me.

Perhaps some people who actually have level 30 necros will chime in on the amount of r/w they use.

aight the i guess i'll shoot for 70frw?

what should i put into armor and helm? pruby? pskull? something else?

and does anyone know what a good recipe for crafting a lld fcr belt is?

70-100 frw is fine, where exactly in that range is a matter of preference. Id socket your stuff with pskulls unless your short an FHR breakpoint, in which case you may want to use a shael or two.

The recipe for crafting caster belts is Ith + Pamethyst + junk jewel + light/sharkskin belt.

Personally I always shoot for at least 100 frw for chars that need it. If you don't mind switching, try for a Fhr/Fcr/Mods Belt for casters.

imma use this until i craft/find one with 10fcr/fhr...

as for fhr...which breakpoint should i go for?

56fhr+pskull or 86fhr (including a shael'd item)...?

Very nice - that's a great temp belt until you do get one with FHR.

Personally, while FHR is important, I find Life Rep to be crucial in caster duels. I'd definitely go with a PSkull - it's not hard to buy another Viper with a Shael rune if you aren't satisfied.

Ive found that 125 fcr is great in some cases, but totally overkill in others. I tend to use 125 most often in nvn, and 75 with a wand setup verses all other classes(minus wof sins, i like spirit for the fhr).

As for fhr, about the only time you will need 86 is against wof sins. I would stick with 56, but thats just me.

In a verses all style game, i use 100 frw, but i sometimes drop down to 80 for nvn. Spirits are slow, and that little bit of life can make a difference.

Also: i am not a fan of using rhyme for a max block shield. Whitstans requires somewhere in the range of 67 dex for max block, any form of rhyme nec head will require way over 100 dex. That is a lot of lost life for a little more damage. Not worth it in my opinion.

On my 30 necro, I use a few different things.

Contrary to what most everyone seems to say 125% fcr is basically pointless, imo you wont ever have enough mana to use 125% fcr without going all 15/7's.

I use 75% fcr 90% of the time and sometimes I even drop to the 48% fcr bp to hit 950dmg spear if I want to 1-2 hit a hld zon or something.

Also on your skills, you may want to max prison and put the rest into wall, doesn't make a big difference but sometimes you may need to BM and its better to have a slightly stronger prison.

As far as frw goes, I use 105% and would have to recommend 100% at least, otherwise you'll probably get caught. I can take out any hld using fort pretty much because they only have 80% frw ruffly.

If you plan on using just spirit, go for a 35%, along with viper, and a 2pnb skills/10fcr ammy. That gets you your 75%fcr bp, and allows you to use bloodfists for more life and fhr. Combine that with string and your good to go.

the only way I would go with 125%fcr is with perfect gear and 15/7's.
