The Dao Jones Cow King Cup.

What is the DJCKC? Quite simply, it is one of the truest tests of PvP skill you'll ever face. It is a tournament where the only thing that will help you win is skill. Too many people shop/trade awesome gear, slap it on a cookie-cutter build, and call themselves "duelers". The DJCKC laughs at these people. The DJCKC is not for these "duelers". The DJCKC requires only two things from entrants: cleverness, and skill.

The DJCKC is what I refer to as a "White Tourney". What this means is simple: No magic, rare, set, unique or crafted items are allowed to be used in this tournament. If the item isn't "white", it ain't alright. Full rules are as follows:

1. All characters may level to 30.
2. NO characters may pass normal difficulty. (Yes, that means no hell rushes. These are classic LLD101 rules, baby.)
3. Only non-magic, socketed, or ethereal equipment is allowed to be used. (Yes, this means no charms, rings, or amulets, either. Unless you can find non-magic versions of these items.)
4. Gems are allowed, but runes of any kind are not.
5. Only Bone Prison is banned from use. All other skills allowed.
6. No potions of any kind are allowed.
7. Fights are best of three. Winners advance, losers... do whatever it is losers do. You wouldn't know, would you? Because you're not a loser. Are you?

And now you're asking, "Dao, why the hell would I fight in this tournament? What's in it for me?" I'll tell you, fair dueler. Your prize is an item so rare that only ONE has ever been seen before. And it only exists on West Non-Ladder, in the hands of arguably the best dueler there. ( Wink

Do you think you've got what it takes? I need a minimum of 8 entrants before the tournament will begin. Right now, I'm planning for it to occur in early January 2008, so as to allow people time to plan and build their duelers. (Also, the holidays are a busy time for most.)

I would absolutely love to try this - my only concern is the timeframe in getting a character ready.

I'm working 2 jobs currently (just for the holidays) so I don't have quite as much time to kill as I might normally have.

Also - I assume no consumables?

I assumed it was a given that consumables are not allowed, but I'll edit it into the first post.

Also, we can easily push this back to mid-January if the holiday season is busy for people.

I'm still planning a character. ^_^ It's so fun coming up with build ideas and thinking of how it might be beaten... hehe!

I assume you are allowed to have as many stash switches as you want?

EDIT: there was an idea likes this a while back, and i suggested a lot of the same stuff. If this is really from over 2 years ago, i guess you had the original idea.

hmm, i'm definitely in if I can make time and if it is definitely in january

this sounds pretty fun. I have 2 ideas so far. the one I think is more powerful and can beat the other one will have trouble against a certain build, but the other idea I had would probably beat that one. not sure which would win against the other though lol

Okay. Let's say it will be toward the end of January. I know that's several months off, and most people sponsor tourneys more quickly then that, but this one is a little different and we have Christmas coming up.
