Subject description: Reusing This Thread...
 

I had this idea while I was refreshing my mule in a duel game. My new ideas were Anti-Melee Tanks. I need comments if this might work or not.

The Anti-Melee Tank:
Level 29 Necromancer (I call it a Tank, but I figured out that it was already thought up of... http://www.lld101.com/viewtopic.php?t=41502)

Skills:
Amplify Damage - 1 Point
Teeth - 1 Point
Bone Armor - 8 Points
Corpse Explosion - 1 Point
Weaken - 4 Points
Bone Wall - 18 Points
Bone Spear - 1 Point
Bone Prison - 6 Points
Clay Golem - 1 Point

Gears:
Helmet: 3 socketed Crown with Sol runes (Damage Reduced By 21)
Armor: Rockfleece socketed with Sol rune
Weapon: 2 socketed 3 to Bone Armor Bone Wand or Grim Wand (for the appearance) with Dexterity + Strength jewels and 3 to Clay Golem Wand on switch
Shield: 3 socketed Tower Shield with Sol runes (Damage Reduced By 21), 2 socketed 3 to Bone Armor Necromancer Shrunken Head with Sol runes or a Whitstan's Guard socketed with a Sol rune (Damage Reduced By 7)
Belt: String Of Ears (Damage Reduced By 15%)
Gloves: Bloodfist
Boots: Sander's Riprap
Amulet: 1 to Necromancer Skills Amulet with stats or Angelic Wings
Rings: Stat rings or Angelic Halo

Anyone think this would work?

Circlets have an inherent level requirement of 16. A 20ed jewel will add 2-4 kick dmg with greaves on.

You'll get more damage with a 3 Ammy helm than a Martial Arts helm anyway. If you don't use Crushing Blow, you have no choice but to make it a TS build. And if you go with a TS build, you're probably better off making it a maxered build with the norm attack finisher.

Forgot about what level requirement a Circlet had xP. Thanks for the information about the damage.

Anyone know what level requirements a Deadly Circlet has?

Edit: Would Flawless Emeralds or Amethysts be better than Enhanced Damage jewels?

+1 shadow disciplines is possible on a rare/magic helm at lvl 15 if thats an option, idk i didnt really read your first post.

Was wondering of this idea after I was playing around with extra skill points on my level 18 Tiger Strike Assassin, and I put a point into Dragon Talon. It surprised me that I was able to do 750 Dragon Talon damage with 3 charges of Tiger Strike.


ed on the weapon is useless for kickers. and like krajee said, 20% ed jewels add very little damage, if your going for a damage build go with Amethysts. Also, I think that Deadly Circlets are lvl 18.

I thought 1str = 1ed, and perfect amyths are 10 str. Why wouldn't jewels work

1str = 1str and 1ed = 1ed. Look at the kick damage formula and the regular weapon damage formulae - there's a difference.

Leap at level 15 is pretty much useless, theres not really any team duels at level 15.

Go in sticky and look at the bottom or under "other information" category, there is a skill planner and gives you %'s and dmg rates, use it instead of asking how much the leap will do Very Happy

I dont see any benefit of this build. No damage, No Bo, just knockback? wouldnt a PH sin be alot better? they have knockback AND damage...i know my hammer sin was a good team dueler.

I would never advocate making an LLD that can't kill a random Sigon zon in a pub duel game. But this one can't.

Sad's right - just make a PH sin if you really want a support character. Or a cleansing smiter with Holy Bolt.

If you want a leaper whos effective in battle, here is my suggestion:
10 leap
10 throwing mastery (for 1 handed throw which you will be using often as your main attack)
1 double throw (your secondary attack, when you don't need a shield)
rest of points into double swing (synergy for double throw)

I'd aim for getting high damage throwing spears with +1 combat skills (for leap) and knockback, and perhaps IAS. Try to get 3 of them, 1 for your shield switch, and 2 for your double throw. Knockback on your spears would definately add to the annoying Leap effect. I do not recommend eth-repair items for any kind of thrower.

Then I'd use max damage jeweled gear.. 3os breastplate (low str + no slowdown effect), 3os 3leap helm, and 2os bone shield. Probably 3x Grandcharms with faster run/walk and mana, and have the rest be large charms with damage and stats (3max/xxAR/5str or dex). Angelic rings and amulet of course, but don't bother with the saber or armor - they suck.
It'd be a tossup between cowking boots (80 life on barb) and gorefoot (+2 leap).. but for uniqueness I'd do gorefoot. If built properly this barb should have great killing power as well as knockback and lvl 16-17 leap.
