the seller is an idiot turned genius. and the bidders/buyers are just plain idiots.

or they could just be fake bids. eminem's childhood house went up to some ridiculous amount of money (i think around $99 million) before most of the bids were cancelled because they weren't real.
then again, a paper clip isn't famous nor does it have millions of fans.

15,099$ now. . if i was the seller, id close the auction now. and sue the bidder when he didnt pay up.
eminems childhood house i can see being closed, because teh person didnt actualy own it. but this is a paper clip. it can be actually owned by this person, so i dont see why the mods at ebay would close it.

as far as i remember, the auction for eminem's childhood house was real, it was the bids that were fake.

well then yea, id sue the bidder. im sure ebay has their ip number when they signed up to ebay/bid. its easy enough to trace. and im pretty sure its in their agreement before you sign up, not to make fake bids?
iv never used ebay before, so all of this is speculation.

man, it's been a long time since i signed up on ebay but i'm pretty sure that you need a credit card to sign up so it shouldn't be too hard to find out who made the bid and to penalize him accordingly.

The same guy placed a bid after bid on his own bid from $5 to $100...
from $100 to $500, to $14,000.
Check the retracted/cancellation section. Someone accidentally entered 20million
