Best Merc For Pking Tomb Runners? |
|
i have a level 18 sorc, and every once in a while i like to pk tomb runners whats the best merc to use? and what should i give them?
i was thinking an act 5 barb with +life armor/helm and 2 x crush flangs or act 1 bow merc will all 15 maxers.

mercs cant duel wield.
act 2 merc is best.
blessed aim, 60+ max armour 45+ max helm, and a weapon that adds slow + cold dmg, or just a nice rare eth pike.
his life should be ok since hes hired in normal. just tele ontop of them and they should get hit hard by the merc, while u spam attacks they will die quickly.

hes lvl 18, the mercs life will be 40, therefore die to monsters or anything. a trap or flying scimitar wouldkill it lol.

Act 5 mercs can't wield maces for that matter either.
If you need a merc to PK tomb runs (untwinked level 20-25 chars) with your level 18 -- you should reevaluate your build, because there's obviously something wrong with it.

I would say the best pk merc would be a act 2 blessed aim or might merc. 3 ruby helm, 3x maxer 1x -15 req armor, 4 or 5 os polearm with the right maxer to hel rune ratio for him to use it.
just tele to the pit and land right on there heads as shdw said. you should be doing enough dmg anyway with you lvl 18 though like rjg said, but adding a merc can be fun.

at lvl 18, nightmare mercs dont even have their aura i dont think, and there life is 40.

I use a normal act2 merc BA merc myself and like to pk chaos runs. Its good for hitting people who are just running around.. the hit stuns them long enough so I can land iceblasts. The most helpful thing about the merc is the stun when people are running, therefore I would recc act2 merc. because I think it has more range than the act5 (not 100% sure though, but works good for me). Off-weapon ED jewels help a ton too, cuz like a jabber mercs dont have much inherent ED. Mine uses a 50ish ED helm and 40ish max armor and an eth 6os poleaxe i think, and does like 400 damage with crap jewels

ive found max dmg jewels work better than ed% jewels. act 2 merc can get range 5 which is the best, but so can act 5 buut act 2 has aura therefore better.
id be careful in tombs though since you could grow a lvl at 18 by merc killing monsters
