You need to be very specific in terms of date, time, item restrictions, skill restrictions, realm, and anything else that may come up.

Even though some of the above may have been well organized, they may not have been successful due to unforeseen circumstances. Another thing to account for is that sometimes having too many rules diminishes the fun factor, while sometimes not having enough can also lessen the fun. Generally, people are interested by things that are different or things that they already enjoy doing.
