Def concer of offensive type?

If your a defensive type, twitch armor is not an option for you, which means your probably looking for a rare (ias, eth rep, good damage, sockets). In that instance sword or axe comes down to which you find/trade for first.

Assuming you don't have a sweet rare, your best bet is probably honor naga/crowbill/zweihander depending on what IAS bp you want to hit and how you stats are. Crowbill gets you a respectible ias bp with decent stats but range and damage suffers...

When I had my concer up I used a 40ias (20 base +20 from shael) eth rep dimentional blade because it was the best I found. Ideally you want a eth rep naga or eth rep + -req zweihander with good damage mods and IAS though. Naga and zwei > rest in damage and range (and zwei just happens to be a bit faster too).
----------------------

I know NL prefers swords because they have NICE classic dupes circulating.

The 'classic' dupes aren't very good for conc because of how slow and ungodly high requirements they have. I would definitely be using an honor naga or knout. If you go with a defensive conc setup (eth ornate and ik pieces) then use a naga since you'll have the str for it easily. If you go for a more offensive setup (twitch or maxed armor) use the knout so you can save some stats for life boost.
