Twisted, you're going to need lifetap, so amp would just end up killing you. Static does help somewhat against ubers.

Having life tap is especially important for meph, because usually his lightning will kill you in two-three hits.

i really recommend against using enigma, you will really want those resists. one of my friends who plays on nl made a fully gear'd uber smiter for ~5 sojs. his gear looked something like this:

p diamond zak (the griz works just as well, he found this while leveling though Cool

chains of honor
silence phase blade
um'd guillames face
dracs
tgods
gores
low maras
raven
dwarf

lt wand on switch, does just fine. it doesnt kill nearly as fast as my ladder smiter (grief, up'd zak, etc... they make a big difference in the killing speed aspect) but it has only died to ubers once...got trapped by minions and lt wore off...ouchie

you probably want to use the dracs because the lifetap that proc's off of that has a lot better leech % and affects a much larger area. plus, the lt off of the wand doesnt last too long, so its good to get it cast off of another source ~ halfway through the bosses which is how long it takes usually for my dracs to go off.
