pretty sure its 36 eth ill have to look, may be a lil less, but regardless, superior eth grims cant be that hard to find if you figure out where to look. lemme check...

no 2sockets :s

u might aswell imbue a eth one, get 450-500def shield, 30/20 and still have a at least 1 socket in it. id prefere that over this one.

all resist? this is lvl29. pritty easy to get resist.

its ok i suppose, but if melee isnt hitting you muvch i wouldn't bother with cbf, and deaths would be replaced with atleast sigons over deaths if i was using rhyme eth grim, but good item to use in the mean time i suppose before you get nice uber def grim shields with + repair + 2 socks.

I think that the eth grim ryhme would make a decent temp shield until you can find the one above.

Ok I was in accounting class and bored out of my freakin mind and I started thinking about how sol runes can negate smiter damage, now I'm not saying negating all of my opponents' damage, but would it be beneficial to have maybe 2-3 sol runes in my equipment, along with the mdr from soe (15% dr 13 mdr I think is what mine has) would it help to cut down on the damage opponents do to me or would it be so small that it would be more worth it to invest in max damage or prubies? Also with the mdr bug is it if they do any kind of magic damage if its below the mdr, the rest of the mdr transfers over to dr? So would it be even more beneficial to have higher resists more mdr transfers to dr?

hard questions when u are not thinking straight. ill pass this time ^^

ps if magic/ele dmg done < magic/ele absorb. then
rest of magic/ele absorbs some of the normal melee dmg u get.

ps sols suck, but goot 2d setup for smiters but i wouldnt use it. dont think barbs can really win vs ALL chars.

ps all this might be wrong, cuz im very "away" Rolling Eyes

When you compare sol runes to prubies, look at it like this: you would never use prubies over max jewels.

Anyways, to compare sols to rubies:

sol = -7 physical damage
pruby = +38 life

so if you get hit 6 or more times with physical damage, the sol rune(s) will come out on top

I wold get probably a spare 3 bo helm with 3 sol socketed to vs smiters and possibly kickers if they can still hit you, but everything else its not really worth it.

38 life, but is that taking in after bo?

I know this sounds farfetched, but maybe you can just ignore the sol runes and go for a dual-honor switch setup (helps cries too) with spare points in frenzy-double swing (double swing is fast stuff!) and use battle cry on them to lower the damage and defense. I'm thinking dual etheral honors (divines?) since you're using a zwiehander as your main, the str req shouldn't be a problem. Oh shyte, maybe you could use dual zwiehanders! Duh Rolling Eyes

Whatever, that's my idea, if you're very set on using a single gear setup (frenzy barbs work decently well on casters too =O)

I'm going to have spirit swords on switch to help with cries, and I have thought of going double handed but then I lose out also on def from a shield.

Well, yeah, obviously spirits or warcry weapons are better for pre-buff, that was just a suggestion for taking down casters and having an easier time with kickers and smiters. If you're set on a single setup without swapping gear, go for the dual honor route, you won't desperately need the +2 skills for your cries.

I don't play anymore, so you don't have to take my word for it. However, I would test this out on SP with a buddy of yours with a caster and a smiter.

m8; how about using eth def bug rescipe?

get a eth grim, use cube to socket it, if u get 2sockets, rhyme it.

ull get a nice 300+def shield. same for the armor. even if it brakes after some time, and if u get only 3 sockets, u can still socket some cheap 15max and -15req jewels in it. who cares it will brake. 15maxers are cheap anyway

I forgot how that bug works but I remember I didn't like, something about me not being able to use it with armors and things, same with upgrading eths, still can't reroll in a cube. Sad
