i think on the trade forums, one warning should still be given for the 24-bump rule, AND/OR give a reference to the profile option to adjust time display on forums (+7 hours for West coast) in the trade rules sticky so that there isnt confusion. i have personally been screwed by this twice now, and finally figured it out on my own.

....how can you get screwed by it? you have your profile set for your time. when a mod closes your post for a 24 hour bump infraction, its 24 hours from the time he posts. since its already listed in your time zone, it should be pretty simple. dont repost the thread until 1 minute the next day after the time the mod closed it. sorry, i guess i wasnt clear.

you have to set your time zone, and it shows every post, relative to that time zone. for example, i had mine set to +8 hours from greenwich time, but my computer clock set for pacific time, which is +7 hours from GST. with this example, when im viewing a post when my computer clock says 7:00, the forum will say 6:00, so im looking at a post that says 6:30, it was actually posted at 7:30. in addition, when i post at 7:00, it will say 6:00. should make a point of this

so basically, you screwed yourself, and you want us to give you leniencey because of it? you are supposed to set your time zone, as the same as your computer. what good is setting it an hour ahead or behind? Rolling Eyes

first off, im not asking for personal lenience.

second of all, it doesnt say time zones, it says GST +/- x# hours. maybe at least post an F.Y.I somewhere that +7 hours is PST, +10 is east coast time etc

we could do that, but not everyone who lives on the same side, is the same time zone. its really not that hard to go through and find what time is your time.

it doesnt take that long to set it. u could just try it a couple of times and watch the time changes until u get it right.

i really don't see how hard it is - you set your time to what you think it would be and if it's wrong, you adjust accordingly.
also, even if your forum time is completely different than what your local time is, when you bump your thread you can easily check if it's been 24 hours from your last bump, regardless of the time. when you do realize this, just delete your post before a mod gets to it and you're good to go.
bottom line, you really have no excuse.

i did delete and it still got locked Confused and im not saying you have to, but this is the sudgestion box Razz i guess flat out sudgestion: in FaQ or in a sticky somewhere put "+7 hours on time display in profile = west coast time, +10 hours = East coast time, 8/9 = mid america, etc~" might save a lot of people a little time Wink

ummm, not to chime in late or anyhting but why should you get a warning?

I mean if that happened every1 would do it once then be like, "oh i got my warning" or try "u didnt warn me omfg"

if u bump early then realize be4 any1 else posts, click the delete button.

This isnt dtrades where u need to bump it right that time mark, we done have 400 users on at a time.
