Well I found my first piece of armor. A pair of greaves but they are a quest item and I can't wear them Rolling Eyes

UPDATE

Well I have leveled to 13 and arrived at Yaks Bend. Karnage and a friend are both ahead of me. I have soloed the entire game to this point with the help of hired Henchmen. On the GW forums, everyone is saying that you can't solo the game so being the stubborn idiot that I am I am trying to prove them wrong. You have to use different tactics when soloing like getting up on a bluff over looking a camp of baddies and sniping them with a bow or AoE while they futilely try to figue out a way to get to you. Keeping the Henchman alive is the hardest part because they charge into battle as soon as you designate a target. If they die,,,you die because you are left all alone in hostile territory.

The lag problems that were so prevalent in the Beta Previews seem to be non existent in the final version. And where I was pretty bored with the game play in the first part of the game it has gotten A LOT more interesting now. The graphics are among the best I have ever seen in a video game but it does take a decent video card to run the game. Some people are complaining about the game freezing due to the strain that it puts on the vid card. At this point I have to say that the money I paid for the game was 42 (including tax) dollars well spent. There have also been three patches to the game that I know of. If you are signed on when one is released it tells you a new version of the game is available and ask you to quit and rejoin the game. You can do this at your leisure so if you are doing a quest you can finish it first. If you are not signed on at the time then the patch loads the next time you sign on and you never even know it happened. Pretty slick.

well i bought the game a few days ago and thought I'd add a little info to help ya out. The reason you havent found any armor is simple because, you cant. From everything I have read and heard from other people, armor can only be crafted or gotten by the various collectors. Also my GW names are Hadin Garkhan (16 warrior), Hammon of Oor Tael (10 pure healer monk), and Zarelis Erwin (lvl 8 "how high can i get in pre-searing" experiment). I'm mostly workin on Hammon right now cause in all the mmorpgs ive played I played healer and am quite good at it, plus i found it a lot more fun then the mindless slashing of my warrior. Hey thanks for the offer of help. karnage had to help me on one quest. He has a ranger/monk (which I suggested he make) and has leveled it to 19. I am amazed at how effective it is. I have only played sparingly the last couple days because I have been doing some dueling and taking care of forum responsibilities but I plan to put some time in between now and the weekend. I have to go back and do the Althea quest because I bypassed it when I soloed all the other quest. Even at level 13 1/2 it may be too tough to solo. I have tried sniping all the monsters that are close enough to the ridgeline but there are still too many when you cross the bridge to get to the altar area. Guess I may have to call for reinforcements on that one. Those 2000 experience points are just too good to pass up.

By the way my character name is Lady Kira Sin.

got GW a couple days ago and i'm loving it though i'll admit, i did have my doubts at first. right now i have a level 10 (almost 11) Elementalist/Ranger. her name is Petra Thaum if anybody wants to look me up.

They have updates every so often so there is no patches or expansions. The game is fluid and they can fix stuff or add stuff on the fly. I agree with B[x], I had my doubts about the game when I first started playing it. It seemed awful tame and the items suxed. But I am now a lvl 16 and have some interesting things and it is fun to updrade your armor and weapons. Some of the quest are a little tedious but others are definitely challenging. I have soloed all but two quest but now I am getting to the point where the quest are too hard for one person with henchmen. Time to find some teammates.

I have said it before and will say it again. The graphics on this thing are amazing. The screen shots do not do the game justice.

Oh I got confused, the stuff you have to pay for are the additonal chapters. Anyway, do you mean the screenshots on sites dont do it justice or when you take one it doesnt look as good? Post some :p

Meh, I decided I'd go for the plunge like the rest of you. I'm enjoying it so far. The only thing I have beef with is the music! I have no idea what exactly it is, but it just doesnt pull me in like some of my favorite games have.

I tried the PvP thing, and oh boy. It was fun, despite the fact that my team only won three out of maybe twenty tries. I've been solo questing (well with henchmen at least) for all of the game. It was pretty funny before I figured out how to hire them! I almost killed a few creatures in Post-Searing Ascalon. I'm pretty much fumbling my way through the game right now, as I got lazy, and just purchased the Access Key, instead of getting the packaged game. Overall though, the learning curve wasnt too steep.

My character is currently level 7, "Delybrio the Seer", if anyone feels like looking me up.
