Best char for farming NM cows? |
|
Since most people seem to recommend NM cows over Norm cows to find LLD items i'm gonna try my luck at this too.. I'll be opening cows with my other comp so killing the king won't be an issue. I'll need a build with decent killing speed, and i'd like to be able to keep a clean inv except for tomes and keys.. (no skillers) so...
Chainlightning sorc? Problem is I want to have 0% MF since I wan't to maximize the chance of finding socketable/eth items and from what I know MF wont help you find any more runes/gems/charms/jewels anyway.
Winddruid? I don't know if they can kill NM cows without high end equipment/skillers, anyone with experience with these feel free to share :p
Javazon, pretty expensive imo, unless I won't be needing a perf. griffons, eth titans and a ton of lightning facets to kill those cows?
And then there is the Trang-Oul mancer using poison nova, really cheap, 0% mf and I think he might be a viable build for NM cows although i'm not sure.. any advice is appreciated

You don't need that stuff to kill hell cows, let alone NM cows...Well, eth titans are nice, but not necessary.
Javazon is probably one of the best builds.

Just use a WW barb using items with big leech. Barbs seem to be untouchable in cow games nowadays.

Javazon is my character of choice.
It wouldnt be that expensive to outfit a zon for one-two player cow games. Its only if you want to go extremely fast in 8 player games that you need good gear.
My zon uses:
Titans (normal)
Facete'd Griffon
Faceted' Upp'ed Twitch
Faceted' Lidless (for mana per kill)
+3 jav gloves
Sanders
Tgods
2 x bk rings
+2 zon ammy
3-4 Jav charms.
I dont feel that eth titans are necessary, because mana is regained per kill, and is much more effective in large groups of cows.
This char has about 2.7k lit fury dmg, and does a 1-2 jav kill per group of NM cows in a full game.

I use two characters to do it, myself, one is a frozen orb sorceress, and one is a poison nova necro.
They both kill the cows in one cast, and the necro doesn't need lower resist either, I'd reccommend him over the orb sorc I guess, 125% fcr and no inherant cooldown rules!

If you want a character that owns cows. I suggest the javazon. I've never played an Orb Sorc but she would seem like a good option too. it's possible to build a pure Lightning Javazon without great gear. If you go pure lightning, your lightning Fury and Lightning Strike (Basically like Chain lightning) will demolish all cattle. I personally love... and i mean i get a real kick out of this... running around herding all the cows while my merc/valk stands there... grab a huge bunch so that the screen is covered in cows... and letting one-two lightning furys fly. The whole group keels over faster than it took me to herd them.

theres one thing you;re all forgetting.
cow king is lightning immune. use either a javazon with lightning fury or a light sentry trappasin. you can kill cows super fast and not have to worry about killing the king.
my cowing javazon isnt expensive at all.
09 valk wing
tgods
titans
maras
lidless
silkweaves
rare +2passive/14dex/20ias/res/innersight charges gauntlets
que hagens wisdom
dont remember what rings, but you can use anything, ravenfrosts, sojs, rare leech rings.
its not an expensive build in the least, the most expensive part on mine is the rare gloves. but the reast you could probably get for 1 rune total. if not, less.

with a lightning jav zon, killing the king wont be an issue, so you can make with 1 comp. plus its about the fastest to use. max lightning fury +1 peirce = 100 lightning bolts.
