but in-game some people can't tell if a capital i is an l, or if a letter o is actually the number 0. If someone wanted to that badly. (i doubt it) then they could easily just make something like Delybri0 (zeros look almost exactly the same in-game. some people can tell the difference but some can't) i think i understood what you were sasying bx but if someone is to make an account named Delybri0 with a zero how would anyone be able to tell? if they don;t scrutinize it. anyways a white list on this forum would basically just be almost everyone on the forum. there are way more people to trust than there are not to trust, but creating a black lsit would just cause unwanted controversy. but a white list is good incentive not to be a scammer too for someone who is on the white lis who deosnt want to be taken off, or someone who aspires to be on the white list. Anyways I am pretty sure that if a couple of the main lld members from each realm got together they could make a white list for each realm in about 4 minutes. there should just be a stickied white list post unless you guys ever figure out how to make the Trusted tag, or Knarl could just put Trusted up above their name like where it says admin in his name or whatever

well, you would whisper *Delybrio to make sure it's him. if someone msgs you, you can just do a /whois *Delybrio to make sure it's really him.

what if someone is friends with delybrio, or anyone, he's just a good example.

Say someone really likes dely, and would never steal from him, but they hate one of delys friends, and they go on delys account and scam the guy they dont like... if you understand. If I was a scammer, and I had access to someone's account, and I hated someone like that, hell yeah i'd do it. But I'm not and don't, so don't worry about me doing it, but other people :\

Like one time my friend got his account jacked by his "friend", and the "friend" tried to get me to xfer, but I could tell by his typing style it wasn't MY friend... Maybe I'm rambling, but I'm eating pizza while I type so this is weird.

i don't think you'd have to worry about that happening because if someone is a good person and wouldn;t steal form anyone, they probably wouldn;t let another person have access to their acc unless they knew for sure it was a good person too. and the person wouldn't do it because he knows that if he stole from someone on the guy's flist then he would change his pw and not let the person go on his account anymore. anyways it's such a far out senario i'm sure it's happened a few times but the peolpe on this site aren;t criminals like the rest of bnet, for the msot part, we probably shouldn;t be considering the worst case scenarios given who we're talking about

lets put it this way, if this trust list or "white list" goes through, itll will be like saying "this person is trusted by some members of this forum. this is not 100% gauruntee they wont rip you off, but pretty close. continue to transfer/trade with others at your own risk"

not really.

in my past 6 or so years of playing d2, i have let 3 people know my universal account password. and iv never had an item go missing (without them telling me before hand they were borrowing it). but this doesnt mean go trusting everyone you meet. im just a good judgement of character, and got to know them after a long time.

good rule of thumb, if you dont talk to them outside of d2 (ie: aim, msn, email, whatever), they arent someone you should share info like your password with.

heh. he is one of the 3 that has my password. the other two no longer play. i try to keep it that why, only 1 person knowing my password on d2 at a time. that way if anything actually went missing, theres only 1 person to look to.

i think most ppl will find it hard to believe that knarl ever stole anything. ive never even met knarl, but he gives off the impression of being an honest person

and he is a very honest person. except for those times that he lies. which never happens. he sleeps standing up. thats how honest he is.

dont cows sleep standing up...O_o....lol sry that reminded me of some 1's sig where it says knarl was a vampire cow...i think unstead of a white list we just create a seperate section to ask for some 1 to help xfer and just give every 1 the ability to lock there own threads in that section (if its possible)
