Sorry, but I think your calcs are wrong. I ran some tests, and here's the results.

19k Psn Jav over 64 Secs
6.5k Plauge Jav over 11 Secs

Letting each run its full duration, here's the damage:

Against Death Hand (75% psn resist, 75% reduction)

Plauge Jav total dmg (post pvp): 372 dmg
Psn Jav total dmg (post pvp): 971 dmg

Against Death Hand + Guardian Angel (90% psn resist, 75% reduction)

Plauge Jav total dmg (post pvp): 148 dmg
Psn Jav total dmg (post pvp): 372

I realize that the GA wont be available to llders, but it's the closest thing I can find to a Venom Ward.

I have however ran into someone who used the Jade Tan Do, and it was damn near impossible. I did manage to win, but only because the person using it didnt exactly have the best setup. I ended up running out of mana near the end, which isnt easy to do on timered spells like Plauge and Psn Jav.

I'll stand firm behind my Psn Zon!

This is strange, what realm did you test this?

I just did a little test on useast standard

poison javelin 2337-2595 poison damage vs death glove (75%resis 75% length reduction)

damage is always 28, 28, 29, 29, 28, 29, like that.

Seems on USEAST standard there is 17% pvp penalty for poison.

oh.. my cousin had 75% resist on his hammerdin, and the zon does very well against necros (closest one to beating my necro in any sort of range near it [slow missle]) and she does pretty well against sorc considering no resists at all and 400 life, he is remakign soon to have good life and max all res so we can see how it works vs sorc then Very Happy

bottom line.

psn = good for play NOT good for competitive "i want to win"

i suppose it would be fun but i would go with a bowzon any day vs a psner.

I did my tests in Hell, I guess that's where our discrepancy is coming from.

Anyways, Death's Hand is a pretty much melee only item. Only two ranged characters come to mind that would use it: Throw barbs and Bowazons. The Poison Zon plays as a caster basically. I cant see too many other casters using Death's Hand, unless they feel that they just cant win anyway else.

It's the same reasoning that goes with Hotspurs + Nokazon Relic. Should you rule out all fire based classes simply because it's possible to get 95% resistance to it?

Again, with Blizz/Cold Sorcs. Are they not viable because a Hawkmail and a Sapphire Shield are avaliable?

I guess then we should all conform and make level 30 Bone Necros. What fun and variety that will be!

i dont agree,

deaths gloves is a simple piece of equipment any caster can use without significant sacrifice to thier build ,, but at a huge cut in the psn users effectivness..

the nokazon and hotspur are somewhat viable for casters to use (but not really melee chars), and thats most likely why cold sorcs are now the choice build..

swicthing out for Hawkmail and loading up on cold res is a much larger equipment switch. it costs characters quite a bit.

not to mention that acomodating all those in the inventory gets to be a hassel juggleing routine,, (wich im learning, i hate) but deaths hand is an easy lil fit.

in the light of those adjustments the gloves are much more accesible for all characters.

imo... as you go more psn,, more of your opponents will be ready.

I don't think poison zon is a "good" dueler for lld or anything like that, i just think it's a lot better than you guys are making it out to be. I think it can beat a lvl 30 sorc that doesn't use death's hand. I think a nec would beat it anyways though. It's not that poison zons are amazing, but they're better than you guys are saying Shocked

if the opponent does not use deaths hand or jad tan do, yes it will work great.

Ya I guess you're right. I find it works extremely well vs no deaths gloves (which most sorc and nec don't use and if they have to put on to win I don't take it as a loss anyways) But with death glove on it doesn't do too well still o.k. though but can't kill it. The only thing i've killed that wore deaths on the zon was all the lvl 18 duelers I dueled on her (they hostiled me of course Razz)

Then again you have the fact that casters can use a magic amulet with 75% length reduce, like my necro's sideboard (paired up with max resists)

if u have all great gear that manages to pair 75% psn res with -75% psn length, .. u deserve to win.

that would be mid level dueling. wont happen for llding. no character should go past level 30.
