Guaranteed job instead of a job in the field of what you picked is a major reason
And after I took my asvab I looked at the jobs available and the army offered me the best job and it was in a field I was interested in anyways, and thats what sold me.

Lol did you go as enlisted or an officer? I'm planning to do Air Force ROTC and hopefully get a pilot or navigator slot

If I was going to be a pilot I would be working towards becoming an officer, but as of now I don't want to. A lot of my prior military friends have suggest I go in as enlisted first and then work on being an officer if anything.

My only drive in becoming an officer would be for the better pay

every navigator i've ever talked to said DONT BE A NAV, do the little extra work and be a pilot.... but i've only ever talked to c17 c130 c5 kc10 kc135 crews... no fighters..

I don't think I'd make pilot with the vision requirements. I might do UAVs, after my time in the AF there's a bunch of private companies that could hire me.
