Ok. Subject description: No army. Canada! |
|
After years of hating Cuba, and Canada, and all these supposed third world counties, i watched Micheal Mores, sicko, and i am disgusted with being called a American. so paint me red and white, i want to move to Canada as soon as i turn 18.
No jokes or anything, i really want to live there, its very clean, crime rate is low, and from the purepwnage vid's ive watched, alot of nice places can be within walking distance.
Oh, and maybe the biggest pluses, the universal health care, and the Canadian import rules, GTR's are street legal in Canada
So my question to you lld canadians is, where in canada, do people still speak english more then french, and have cafe's, job opertunities, and condo's for sale.
i was thinking about a apartment, but the fact that i cant play music really loud, and punch a hole through the wall at my own discretion makes me sick.
And i will still like NY Rangers. Do it.
Help me lld101!

please, don't come. we don't want you. that post basically sums up how we view most americans. and we don't want most americans here, that's why there's a border. or at least do the tiniest bit of research on canada before you turn 18 (that'll be in about 6-7 years im guessing?), and you'll realize we arent what you like to call a "supposed third world country." now if you'll excuse me im going to go to a cafe before i go back to my job.

i didnt mean canada was a third world country, that would be way to much of a compliment( LOL LOL LOL )
in sicko, they took 9/11 vollenteers with health problems from their work, their medical insurance wouldn't help them, and the government wouldn't help them. So they went to cuba, and got all the care they needed for free.
the $120 inhailer a women needed for her respitory problems, it cost 3.20 peso's, or just over 5 US cents their.
the american government has been telling us lies about third world countrys, AND canada, saying that if we switched over to your, far superior, medical system, our doctors would lose jobs and our people would die.
but because of our current system, people die everyday because medicine costs to much
1 example of a scenario in that movie was.
this 1 canadian guy, he cut off all 5 fingers in a saw accident.
then the same type of thing happened to a guy in US, only he lost 2 fingers, it would cost 25k for 1 finger, and then 15k for a different finger. this guy actually HAD TO PICK which finger he wanted to save
america is such a fuckin shit hole, ruled by corrupt, fat white old men, all they care about is money and i hate it.
canada is not a third world country and i want to live there.
i am turning 18 in about 3 years. i am 15, and fed up with where i live already. so 3 years should be enough for me to start a savings account, and keep depositing money, so i have enough for a down payment on a apartment or somthing in canada. i wont have to worry about paying insurance every month because of your great healthcare

I really cannot comment on this, I don't know where to start nor do I know how to explain tghis to him. All I will say is, if you're really wanting to do this, do your research about everything, you simply won't get the healthcare just like that.

French is only really spoken in Quebec, but even there you could get by with English. I suggest either Vancouver, Calgary, or Toronto, in that order. Vancouver is very relaxed, jobs are fairly easy to get, and the weather is fairly nice, but the housing is very expensive. In Calgary it is very, very easy to get a job, but it is not quite as nice as Vancouver, and housing is still fairly expensive. I don't know much about Toronto, to me it seems to have more of an American feel to it. It would still be a step in the right direction, though. You cannot afford a condo in any of these cities, and certainly not at 18.
If you plan on attending a university, I would again recommend Vancouver (UBC), Calgary (U of C), or Toronto (U of T). University is more expensive if you are not a citizen or permanent resident, but still cheaper than what you would pay in the US.
Some smaller cities (such as Kelowna, BC) are quite nice.
And of course it would be stupid to decide to move based on just a documentary or an internet show. Make sure you take some time to see if you like a city before you actually move there. It is also difficult to relocate if you don't know anyone in the area, so if you have family/friends anywhere in Canada, that would be the logical place to visit.

I hear the area around Yellowknife is lovely. You should move there. And its got the word "knife" right in the title, so you know it's totally cool.

We play hockey, enjoy maple syrup, and live in igloos.

The country that spawned MacGyver is nothing but buckets of WIN imho.
I know I can't make an accurate judgement of a country based on my experiences at a mouse-infested theme park, but the Canada exhibit, especially the 360 degree panoramic movie, at Epcot makes me want to pack up and move there every time I watch it.
In the area I was born, you could look across the St. Lawrence and see Canada, so I'm practically (part) Canadian anyways!
edit: BTW, anyone ever seen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_problems_solved_by_MacGyver. I found it while trying to figure out how to spell "MacGyver".
