The name and description say it all. I'm making my very first lld caster, level 29
and I'm curious to know what you guys think would be a suitable belt
I have plenty of fhr, I'm not in any need of strength really.. so that cuts out most classic-style fhr/str/life belts
Resists are mid-high, maybe a tri-res? (if possible) Except I figure most of my dueling will be done in normal, and since my character is hell rushed with anya quests, that + vipermagi tank the elements pretty hard
If not, what are some other good suggestions? Any input would be great seeing as I have no belt!

it really depends on which build you are talking about. Many casters use crafted fcr belts to help them hit a breakpoint without the aid an fcr ring (allowing the use of sojs). Otherwise, a rare fhr/life/mod belt or a String of ears is the way to go.....standards for a reason.

if you need fcr: 10 fcr, 17 fhr, 20 mana, 5 rep life crafted
if you need fhr/res: 24 fhr, 60 life, 5 rep life, dual res rare
if you dont need either: 15/15 string of ears

Why does the 10fcr belt only have to have 17%fhr? You can get 24%fhr ones...

you can, but to keep it under lvl 30 you have to have like no other mods on it...idk how crafting works, this is just what ive heard from other people.

So for the original poster, I would probably just use a SoE if you don't need faster cast rate. The 15% damage reduction is great against physical chars, and the 15 damage reduction actually helps a fair amount against casters (and you exploit the MDR bug against people who don't know any better).

Basically I'd just follow each of Waramp's suggestions depending on what your character needs. Life Rep is extremely useful in caster duels.

IMO best would be 10 fcr/20 mana/17 fhr/5 replen (I use 10 fcr/20 mana/17 fhr/4 replen currently Smile

)
You can get plain 10 fcr 24 fhr at lvl 28, but any other mod would make it 31
For you, I would get 10 fcr/life/single res/replen if you can find one

I'm pretty sure you're mistaken there. The required level of crafted items is based off the highest level req of the affixes. Like dain said, the formula is highest level req + 10 + (3 * number of affixes that spawn). I think there's some tweak for higher level affixes, but that doesn't come into play for LLD purposes.

Since the highest level req on your belt is 7 (Life Rep), the required level with 2 affixes is 7 + 10 + (3 * 2) = 23.

I wasn't sure if the rlvl = .75 * ilvl estimate rounds up or down, but Dain knows his stuff. So you can get a 24 FHR / 5 Rep belt with a level req of 13 + 10 + (3 * 2) = 29.

Which is what Mortis said all along. Haha.

until i see a 10/24/5, im going to be stubborn and say 10/17/5 is the best possible @ lvl 30
