Alright thx, I'm starting him later tonight. I'll get the deaths gloves and someone told me to use a 6 soc war axe with ed/max jewels in it. Would this be a better or worse choice. So its 1 in might, and like 9 or 10 in sacrifice, got it.

war axes kick ass. i use a 14% superior one on my lvl 9 pally and it has 21 to 85 dmg on it after jewels. superior ones are hard to come by though. i almost gave up my search and used a superior crystal until my friend found the axe by accident.

crystal and waraxe have the same speed, but the waraxe has 4 more average dmg. onm the other hand the waraxe requires 14 more strength than the crystal to weild (43 to 67).

as for just plain ed jewels in shields, i have been told 1.10 has a bug that ed jewels no longer work in shields, so i would stick with plain +max jewels, or max/ed.

as for might vs sac. with 20 points into sac, youll get +240% damage, with 20 points into might youll get +230% damage. so according to the skill planner, sac is better to max by 10%. http://66.98.154.13/Skills.html

supposedly the ed% +dmg bug is with ed%+dmg on the jewel iteself, when used not in a weapon.

shields/hats/armor it doesnt matter at the moment... DONT use a jewel with both ed% and +dmg off-weapon, just hold onto it.

plain ed% should work, i have a 10%ed -15%req in a shield and its 10% bonuses is listed as working.


the pal shields inherint ed% wont have any adverse effect, it will work un bugged, always

See...I don't get this ed%/max bug

My lvl 18 conc barb uses a superior gothic plate 57%ED +59 max 14%Edefence. When I take it off, both my max damage AND my minimum damage goes down. My theory is that it DOES work and it's just not as effective as before; in other words, in 1.09 maybe the ed on armor worked for the damage AFTER the ed on weap was added on (i.e. 20 ed sword 20 ed armor, after ed on sword is on ed on armor comes into play)
and this time the ED on armor is combining with the current ed on weap (i.e. 20 ed weap 20 ed armor=40 total ed), therefore rendering it less effective.

Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong? =/ and if I'm wrong, please explain how my minimum damage goes down.

War Axe/Crystal is base 0 speed, flail is -10. War Axe has better average damage and higher max (I think), but it's easier to hit 5 fpa zeal without getting too much IAS (50 IAS for 5 fpa zeal with flail vs 65 IAS for 5 zeal war axe).

I guess if one has a good damage war axe with 20% ias, they could use that over a flail.

Umm...this is better

Either grab yourself a 6 socket military pick (-10 base speed) and dump some nice jewels in it, or grab a 5 socket war scepter (also -10 base) and dump jewels. I like the scepter because it has low reqs, a lot of socks, fast speed, and possibly some godly +skills and you can shop them at drognan or whatever if you're lucky -.-

good scepters are far a few inbetween id say get a pick and if you ever get a scepter with +2 or +3 to zeal and might then i would remake but dont count of finding one

but for a set up you want
6 soc pick with max jewels (ith runes if you cant get the jewels)
3 soc crown with max jewels (perf rubies if you cant get jewels)
twitch with max jewel (perf rubie if you cant)
deaths gloves and sash (atleast deaths sash and bloodfists otherwise)
4 socket pally shield with max jewels and inherent ed/ar (use steelclash if you dont have the jewels with a perf diamond)
cow king boots (treds is a nice cheap pick though)
angelics ammy and 2 rings

get 48% fhr with 2 12% fhr grands or a 12% grand and a 8% large at the very least (you WILL need these) fill the rest with life smalls

if you can afford it i would go
5 6 max 12% fhr grands
1 3 max 8% fhr large
3 6 max 6 str grands (or 6 max with 18 or more life grands)
and fill the rest with 15 life smalls with secondary elemental damage (cold is a must if you can find it)

edit: apon further inspection into the rhyme question, i have discovered if you transmute a hel with a shael (thus making a 'hael') you can get a rhyme at level 15.

Rebellions....Max sockets on a pick is 6!!!!!!

I have a 6 socket pick AND a 6 socket crowbill.

Unless I'm randomly picking up hacked items in cows, I would say max sockets is 6.

war/divine scepter is 5 sockets max.
and war axe/ mil picks are 6

i shopped a +2 zeal war scepter and took it to larzuk.. only got 3 sockets.. that what i get for shopping in act2 normal

the only reason i see scepters as being better is becasue u could get +2aura and +2zeal and 5 sockets. but super rare..

i know that i HAD to get a +zeal scepter to hit 5 hits on my lvl 14 build.. (i will NOT use sigons shield!) and the fact that it saved me a point too is good. but thats for lvl 12-14 builds

6 sock mil pick is great at 18 and its still 3til3 with +90 dmg in it. id say just go for that..

but ideally yeah.. +2zeal +2might/concentration/holy freeze 5 sock war scepter,,,, not sure if 3 is possible on those skills... is it? u guys find one?

welp, how come when i used my socket quest on a sup pick i only got 5 socs? thats a total jippage
