I'm new to lld101.com, but I always look through the forums for some builds and guides. I was looking on advice for a lvl 49 mld barb. So far, I have:

Skills:
20 Battle Orders
20 Mastery (sword)
1 Battle command
1 Increased stamina
1 Increased speed
1 Iron Skin
1 Natural Resistance
Rest into whirlwind
+ all prereqs

Not exactly sure about some skills, I may have too many points in places not needed and could better use them in ww. Need a lot of suggestions here.

Stats: (where I need the most help)
Str - Thinking of about an 80 base (I know I'm probably way off though)
Dex - Enough for max block
Vit - The rest
Energy - base

Ok this is definatly where I need the most help. I probably need a way lower base of str. I don't know exactly how much dex I'll need for max block, so if someone could give me a number that'd be great.

Gear:
Helm: Arreats
Weapon: Oath Highland blade (eth)
Shield: Whitstans for melee; Sanctuary for casters
Armor: Shaftstop (upped?); GAngle for casters
Gloves: Bfists/IK
Belt: SOE/IK
Boots: Gores/IK
Jewelry: Angelic combo/raven


Charms:
?x 20 lifers
?x Bcombs/War cry GCs

I have a messload of 20 lifers, and a decent amount of bcombs and wc gcs, I just don't know how many of each I should use. Also, would I be better off with the IK combo, or bfists, soe and gores? I've seen a couple mld barbs in action and they said bfists soe and gores were the way to go, but I want to be sure. I could also use some skill suggestions too. Another issue I ran into, was finding an eth 4os highland blade. I know it's not expensive, but that's going to be a problem obtaining. Sorry I don't know much about stats and bps but I just started up lld and mld. I know this isn't great, but it's my first mld and I could really use some help.

Can't upp shaft, too high level req.

I'd use dual ravens and a good rare amu.

I didn't use bfists, I used lava gouts.

Soe/Bfist (lava gouts) > Ik combo.

Use Sanc Hyperion always.

Only enough str to use items, no need any more.

Don't use any bcomb or wc gcs. Only use plain 20s or max/ar/life scs.

I always suggest conc > ww though, so much more fun and not as gay.

Well, I'm having a bit of trouble getting my hands on a good rare ammy, and I very much need the extra ar. I didn't think of lava gouts, but I have them too and could definatly use them. And I wanted to use a WW barb because this is sort of meant for dueling casters more than melee. And thank you for the hyperion shield sanc suggestion. but that's another hard to come by item I'll have to find now. Thank you for the suggestions

i cant even remember if conc is a pre req... if it is your set. if not put one point into it. It will come in handy sometime at least.

Being a barb you will def need stashed gear and will need to switch it out depending on who you are dueling.

So try things out, see what works best for you.

if you plan on conc'ing then defenitely use the gouts or if you could afford it, you CAN get up to 9 str and 15 dex w/ 20 ias on lvl 49 gloves, so those imo would be better probably. if you are going ww only, bfists or ik gloves would be my choice, probably ik gloves (40 stats is huge)

btw hyperions arent hard to get, and with socket quest they always get 3 soc, pretty cheap runeword to use/make. and its awesome as hell for bm'ing zons and sorcs and necro's

personally i would use triple ik - belt gloves and boots - but then vs. melee i'd switch it to ik gloves soe and gores for the extra ds/dmg

but charms this is where i should be able to help -
this all kinda depends on what you're willing to spend, because i would go mass 20 lifers all the way but what i would use as prime would be about 10-15 10/20/3's for frw so you can catch the pesky runners and rest would be like 3/20/20's of course this would be extremely expensive if perm

but mass 20 life sc's should work but try and mix in frw so you can catch people because on ALL OF caster mlds i ENJOY dueling barbs just because they can never catch me, and even though they don't die very quickly it's just amusing running around them

btw also i'd put one point into zerk for necros, cuz if you ever run into a necro build like me you're gonna wish you had it =\ bone armor's kinda annoying to get through, but that's just me, and also i doubt you'll really need that many points into ww when i made mine he had base point into ww and rest went into i can't remember if it was increased speed or shout =\ but yeah

if you ever would like a test against any of my mlders lmk if you're on useast nonlad have 3 you could duel that are lvl 49, fissure, pnb, and rabies/fury

Thanks for the suggestions. I do plan on some stash gear also. Like sorbing gear for bm ppl I run into. I'll keep the triple IK in my stash too, I never know when I might need a switch. Now the only 2 problems I have is getting an eth 4os Highland, or eth 4os small cresent. If I could get either one plain, could larzuc give me 4 sockets on them? Or if anyone has and oath ft I'll gladly trade for one.

they would both receive 4 sockets from quest so youre good to go there. i 100% recommend the highland...you'll have fun with 99% of any zealot or other barb you meet since chances are they are gonna be using small cresents

use a highland, don't use sc , 1 more ias, 2 more range, 3 i think it does more dmg lol

Now a new build is coming to mind, since my my sorc JUST mfed a HoZ off of nm meph!11!!!11!! So I'm debating whether to sell the HoZ and make my barb that much better, or make a smiter. I'm still leaning towards the barb, because smiting is so boring >_> My only problem now is getting an oath highland. How much would that be worth?
