Recently i've had problems with my disk drive not reading disks... i opened it up after weeks upon weeks of searching for the right sized phillips.. only to learn that i am computer repair illiterate.. i cant seem to access my disk drive... maybe its me or maybe its the toshiba laptop.... to sum it all up.. i wont be getting this drive fixed for a good while... to the point.. i know there is a simple answer to this question..

HOW DO I PLAY DIABLO 2 WITHOUT THE USE OF MY HARD DRIVE?

i know there is a "legit way to do it" and there is a "hack".. but i assure you.. i have no intentions of hacking anything or anybody.. even if i did use the "hack" method... i just wanna get back in the game... if you know how.. you dont even have to post it publically.. pm me.. i dont care.. i just wanna play again!

Download it, and download/create an image of your D2 disk. Then just click buttons to mount an image. Common sense is all you need along with daemon/image.

i had the same problem with my computer. One day it just stopped reading disks. After hours of trying unsuccessfully to fix the problem, i just reformated.

It was a pain, but its fixed now.

Maybe i lack in common sense... anyone know what the term "image" means or how to create one, or where i can find one for d2??

an image is an iso file. its an image of a disc. you can mount the image of the d2 cd, and your computer will think you put in the d2 cd (to an extent)

You either make one yourself, or download it somewhere. You could probably find one using torrents

is torrents a search engine?

scratch that.. i googled torrents and found some downloads... i.e. "d2 perfect image" n "d2 nocd crack" but each takes 80+ hours to download... am i doin it wrong or when can i find a more expedient method.. perhaps someone already has an image made somewhere that i can use?

then go to isohunt.com type into the search "diablo2 .ISO" and download it with utorrent

i got all these downloads, and i found the iso image.. but!

it says complete.. but ther isstill some kind of dowloading going.. should i just clear it or what..

so.. i disregarded the fact that something was still downloading and i mounted the image and this came up, i thought i was golden

i was shot down after i clicked play.. and this came up

is there a way around this or did i skip a step somewhere?

That downloading your talking about is seeding, which is basically you sharing your newly downloaded file to others.

That's a little wierd. Try closing out utorrent, rebooting, and trying it again. Sometimes I just keep clicking retry and it works. I'm not really sure whats going on, so wait for other responses or try some troubleshooters.
