By the way...I've already played through most of it! I figure since none of you will ever get to play it I'd fill you in on how it is/goes. Mr. Green

Super Mario Galaxy centers around the usual "storyline" of a kidnapped Peach with Mario racing to save her. Bowser now has lots of spaceships, which tear the castle right from the ground and into space.

There is a huge variety of levels in this game, way more than in Super Mario 64 (SM64).. Super Mario Galaxy (SMG) includes desert, lava, ice, mini (also asteroids), etc. planets. Planet sizes vary from levels bigger than those seen in SM64 to the size of something that the camera won't even flip around for, leaving you to wander upside-down. This isn't a flaw, just a fun way of letting you defy whatever gravity exists on the planet you're on. You can jump off of one side of a planet and land on the other side or on another planet. You can jump off a cliff, and land back on the same cliff. The gravity effects that SMG uses, because of its wide range of settings, are really what makes the game what it is.

Again, there are 120 stars, but you only need to get 60 to "beat" the game. I haven't "beaten" the game yet with over 60 stars, because I'm a ridiculously big SM64 fan and refuse to "win" before I really win. It actually took me a long time to hit 120 in SM64 because of one star...Tick Tock Clock 100 coins...for some reason I could never quite hit 100. I'd put the game away for over a year more than once in between 119 stars and the end of the game. Hopefully that doesn't happen this time. Embarassed

The Wii Remote does not control Mario. It does, however, make Mario do a spin move when you shake it like you would while swinging Link's sword in Twilight Princess. It's not a completely flail-your-remote-around-to-win kind of game. The remote is actually just used to collect stuff around each level. There's a weird co-op thing where another remote can be hooked up just to collect stuff for you. It's kind of useless unless you don't like having to move your wrist around for almost no reason. It'll also make whoever is player 2 a bit whiney because you'll be having all the fun.

The graphics are the best I've seen on the Wii so far. I've played Zelda, SSX, Red Steel, Super Paper Mario (lol), and some other games I can't remember on it, and they don't look nearly as good. SMG isn't really at 360/PS3 calibur graphics, but neither is the console it's on. Even with less detail then my recently purchased Halo 3, it's way more colorful.

i have a Wii. although it hasnt been touched since i beat zelda and lost intrest in Paper Mario (i LOVED the 1st one for N64)

Im planning on buying this game as well as Brawl (they make us wait soooo long to get the games we actually want Sad

)

Although as of right now im not so sure about how this one will compare to SM64.

im def getting this.

Especially since if i buy it sometime this week at Toys R Us, i get a 25$ Gift card with which to put towards another Wiimote (so really SMG is only 25$ itself o.o with double the tax.)

the gravity and physics are making me trip balls and takes a while to get used to

On a scale of 1-10, One being you would rather give yourself paper cuts between your fingers and toes and then go play in the dead sea then play SMG anymore, and Ten being you would rather play SMG then have sex on a trampoline with Carmen Electra, what is it?

alright. To be a little bit more specific...

SMG rating = 1 : You would rather give yourself paper cuts between your fingers and toes and then go play in the dead sea then play SMG anymore

SMG rating = 5 : You feel it was neither a good or a bad game. Neutral feelings.

SMG rating = 10 : You would rather play SMG then have sex on a trampoline with Carmen Electra.

1 = extreme dislike of the game.
5 = neutral feelings.
10 = better then sex with a very hot woman.

Just looking for where about you would rank it.

you dont actually get to have sex with carmen electra anywhere... unless your a damn lucky bastard. maybe i should give you a new scale....

1 = it sucked.
5 = neutral about it.
10 = one of the best games you've played.
