Subject description: its a battle of speed vs power

ive recently found a wolfhowl laying around on some mules and for shits in giggles im in the process of making a wolf barb. ive done some off line testing with the gear i have avilable to me, i <3 hero editor Very Happy, which for the weapon is my ebotdz.

now as im assumeing you know that speed of you attack when shifted is only from your weapon, meaning that any other ias gear you have is just mute. so ive thought of getting a ebotpb.

ive hacked it up and the pb is clearly faster but the zerker hits way more damage.

the zerker reads about 1700 and the pb is around 1000 but it looks as if for every 1 hit the zerker makes ive already done 2+ with the pb!

so figureing thats 1700 as compaired to 2000 maybe a bit more (if im looking at something like half frames)

has anyone done any testing to see which is actually better? with the pb it seems like more a zeal or fury because im hitting much faster.

since im using wolfhowl i dont have access to fury, which then the zerker would clearly be the best choice.

I used ebotdpb on my wolf barb, but I'd suggest griswold's weapon to hit last bp or even a grief pb.

If it's for pvm, go with the botd zerker, otherwise use a grief pb.

oh wow, barbs can hit 3 frame feral rage with a 100 ias phase blade. anyway, if you use an ebotd war spike, you'll be hitting 5 fps. phase is 4 but low damage, zerker is 6 but higher dmg. i would probably personally go for the war spike

ps: grim, can i plx see your ebotdpb?!?! worth 10k+ fg i would imagine

well its for pvm, im not big on hld...

a war spike would be nice for the range also but then again it is pvm and im quite fond of using a sheild

still wouldnt the speed of the ebotdpb make up for the lack of power it has?

also i like the leech of botd compaired to grief because i dont have an extra pair of dracs laying around

yes and i do like the allure of the 350-400 (depending on roll) damage and the ctc venom for some extra damage.

i think im just going to stick with the ebotdz though... not worry about needing to trade and all that stuff. plus ive already started making the barb and pumping axe mastery.

Silly me, I accidentally deleted that barb a year ago or so... kinda sucks too since I lost some shitty charms and my perf wolfhowl.

Not too mention my perf 415ed Botd Phase.

few things here. first: war SPIKE is not the same as war PIKE. war spike is the elite version of military pick. second: you cant have an Ebotd phase blade, since you cant have eth phase blades. and because they cant be eth, you miss out on a lot of damage. so if its for pvm i say use ebotd war spike.

if you play d2pk you can have ebotd pbs Razz

for pvm, i'd probably use a griz caddy or botd war spike (speed or dmg)

for pvp, grief is so damn good its hard to beat with anything.
