Finally got around to seeing I Am Legend the other day. It was okay. Honestly, while it was a good movie, the ending was much much better in the book. In fact, the whole "I Am Legend" concept takes on an entirely different meaning in the book then it does in the movie.

In the flick he becomes a "legend" because he finds the cure that saves humanity. In the book, he's a "legend" because he's become the "bogeyman" to a new breed of humans. (In the book, some of the monsters learn to control themselves and begin rebuilding "human" society. But Neville hunts all the creatures thinking they're all bad. So he becomes, in effect, a "legend" the monsters tell one another - the "day walker" that kills them while they sleep.)

reverse vampire, i was under the impression it was a bit of a joke, suggesting humanity at 1 point was from the night, and the transition to day turned the night stalker version into myth

I watched Beowulf and Rush Hour 3 on my flights between SF and Winnipeg. I think I would have rather been sandwiched between two fat people with horrid gas than spend 5 hours watching those films.

Beowulf was lame, but watchable. I suppose from a strict action movie perspective it was alright, but the fact that they tried to give it some literary credibility was sort of insulting.

Rush Hour 3 was just unwatchable, unless you have the IQ of a grapefruit. It's like they just took all the lame "schticky" stuff from the first two movies (removing any actual plot), turned it all into refrigerator magnets then tossed them at a metallic surface, and whatever order they stuck in was the way they scripted it. Plus, Jackie Chan is getting too old to do the cool stunts, so you don't even get that.

replace "rush hour" with "shrek" and "jackie chan/cool stunts" with "mike meyers/funny" and you have yourself another movie review.

Bittorrented the ATHF movie finally. It was... pretty good. I think trying to stretch one episode over 90 minutes kinda made the "plot" (such as it was) struggle, but if you're a fan it's worth a watching.

No Country for Old Men - 9.5/10
Sinister, evil, and menacing. The dialogue is fantastic, including moments of well timed comic relief. An open ending that leaves something for the viewer to ponder. Spectacular performaces by the entire cast. Beautifully shot. Honestly, its "bloody" awsome. Watch it. Best movie ive seen in a while

I just watched "Reign Over Me" with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle. I had heard it was bad, and Sandler couldn't be taken seriously based on all his history as a comic, but I had no trouble with that. It was quite an emotional-type movie, and I thought it was quite good.
