I'm getting many responses on how kickers are the weakest in melee llding and that they don't do any damage unless built with perfect gear. Is this true?

I am making a pure kicker for melee duel only and planned gear is

Blade Talon 30ias With 2shaels 70ias.
Peasant Crown Perf ruby
Spirit Shroud Perf ruby
Whistans socketed with..?
Angelic ammy/Ring
Rare ring with ar/stats/life
War boots with frw/dext/fhr
2Ma/dext gloves
Strings
x2 +2Shadow claws on switch
+2Shadow ammy for small prebuff

Should I go an all strength build for more damage and rely on charms for life? Melee vs Melee only

erm..
u will get pretty "decent" dmg without all out str but seems like ure build doesnt have any cb that might hurt..
upped gobs might fix that..
or strength bladetalon if u go for bos way..
or even ugly rattlecage..
otherwise ure items looks pretty decent..

For a pure melee vs melee kicker, I'd do this:
+2ma circ
strength hand scythe with +3dragon talon
+2ma ammy
spirit shroud
+2ma gloves
rare rings
war boots
string of ears
artisan's tower shield of deflecting with ed/str/dex jewels

Yes, it's a non fade build, but the damage output is amazing. I always wanted to try it out, but I've never been able to get the handscythe.

ummm i dont think you should p ruby anything, that will basicly make your char useless, btw to all the stupid people that mosted kicker guides, hint hint max dmg doesnt help kick retards, find some 24 ed jewels or just 20s and put them in your gear, enhanced dmg helps your kick dmg

well acutally p ruby if your trying to hit high life, but if your trying to hit high dmg and life just get ed jewels in your items, and some life/ar charms, armour should probaly be 24 ed -15 req on a 4 soc anicent armor.

Any other gear possibilities? If possible.. I would like to avoid using Hand scythes seeing as how they consume so much time to get.
I have tried posting on forums/shopping for them for quite a while now.

I hear a lot of bad advice, IMO. If you're gonna use a 4 soc armor to put 20 ed jewels in, use a ancient armors, cuz to hit good dmg you need all str neways. The best kicker armor IMO would be something like 80 life 60 ed 15 str 15 dex Ancient armor. I use ik gloves/belt for not good dmg and ar. I use angelics jewelry for dex and horrible ar. I use prubies in my gear until i find 20 ed / str/dex jewels.
