This is going to be for people who love melee and close range duels...

Only character types allowed are Melee, Smiters, Chargers, and WW...all chars are to be 49...

i already have a 2-3 people becides myself getting into it for team duels, if your intrested just leave a message on here with your Acct name and char type(s) and when we set up some team duels ill be sure to notify you in advance

For those who are a bit lost on this concept...ill explain it more in detail...

Why level 49?
level 49 allows for a few better items such as shaft stop or oath, while still keeping items that are more high mld/hld out of the mix such as CTAs and such...this means that the duels will feel as fun as low level duels do while still allowing for a cheaper, more effective char to be made.

Why no casters?
theres enough casters out there to mess with, it would be rather nice to do a 4v4 game of all close quarter combat characters...at first it was going to be all melee, but that would just be boring and there wouldnt be much of a stadegy to the duels...allowing for smiters, ww barbs, and chargers will make it more intresting by changing around what type of players your going to be dealing with...

for example a zealot would have a hard time with a smiter, but the ww barb could deal with him...the zealot would give a ww barb a hard time and a concin barb could give the zealot a hard time...chargers or just chars using charge would be working as hit and run strikers...possibly to finish off somone running with low life, or as a first strike...im sure you can see the ammout of team work that would be involved in this

WW barbs kinda have an unfair advantage because they can continue wwing everywhere and chargers wouldn't be able to hit them, zealers would get owned by a ww and a smiter would too by atking triangle direction

lag...

ww wouldnt really be able to do that...you seem to be couting out the whole defense factor...ww bars wont have that high of defense therefore they will be easy to hit by zeal and concin, onto of that but concin zeal, but mainly concin barbs would have to high of def for a ww barb to land consistant hits on...not to mention the damage would be relitivly low compared to the damage of the other types of melee...ww would get around 2.5k where as a concin would get 4.5k+ with similar gear...zeals would balance out the same with a headstriker due to the high deadly stirke and such...so they wont be really that over powerd...

also a charger would have a fiar day against something like a concin barb or a smiter...or even a zealot...the main thing that would take them out would be the ww barbs...

if you actuly take into account personal skill of the player and the actual physics of the game then there wont be any overpowerd characters in this...each char will have its one or two weaknesses...

ww < zeal, concin
smite < ww
charger < ww

yes ww barbs will be strong, as in any type of dueling...but as you see there are possible ww killers that are very effective at doing such...

you just have to think about things a little more and once you do that you start to see the balance in it all



im also currently thinking about allowing bow zons under one stipulation...only normal arrow and strife can be used...no guided/magic/elemental arrows...but thats still just under though so as of right now they arent allowed at all...


im also thinking about setting up the first duel, which should be a 2v2 hopefuly, within this comming week, so if your chars are finished let me know and we can try and get everyone on the same page, thanks

You might want to consider a couple rules.

1) Wands w/charges (like lifetap)
2) Amount of slow gear that can be used
3) Lawbringer legal? Kickers would use this

basic rules apply here as they do with any other type of dueling...

charges are BM

slow is BM

lawbringer - good point i had not though about the decrep...which means no, it wont be allowed which shouldnt be a problem because the only decent thing about it is the decrep...

Ive dueled 49 zealers with full offense aura gcs and have brought em down to fairly little hp on my lvl 30 barb....If a ww barb uses a shield and wws away from a zealer the zealer honestly doesnt have a chance..

Concin -- 1552 - 3048 damage / 10784 ar / 7980 def (13566 while concin)

2995 life, 393 mana, max block, 30% DR

guess someone would have to duel you to prove it but that conc barb would lose a lvl49 WWer hard....

The lvl49 WWer I had was based around DS/CB/ow and defense, less on raw dmg. With all mastery/life GC's and ar/life SC's I hit 11-15k ar depending on gear (WITHOUT angelics), so somehow I don't think a WWer will have touble hitting a conc barb. Long WW passes + OW for the win.... Either oath + up'd swordback or better sheild & butchers. You SURE you want WWbarbs mixed in with the other melee chars?

Then again your allowing smiters which aren't melee at all, so I guess you have to keep barbs in to kill them?

if the conc barb was a defensive build then they will be hard to hit for any 49 melee. but an offensive conc barb like Anni's barb will lose.
