Hi guys, I'm working on a presentation for class, and I need examples of the usage of Scottish locations, personas or characteristics in the use of video games. I have the William Wallace Campaign from Age of Empires II, as well as the qualities of Dwarves in many games and how they exhibit many stereotypical Scottish traits. Any help would be appreciated.

I always felt like Final Fantasy Tactics had some Scottish/British Isles themes. I might be misremembering, but wasn't the intro theme music bagpipe-sounding?

I think I read somewhere that Wars of the Roses(scottish locations) was an influence for Tactics' story. Also, Dragoons(lance wielding knights that originated from scotland.....I think). So...the story, some bagpipe music, and Dragoons.

Do those make FFT an acceptable example?

If you are going to use AoE as an example, you should go for the Medieval Total wars too. They all have scottish people/voices.

Im sure i have a few more examples at the back of my mind, ill post if i think of any more.

Almost any Golf game will have famous scottish golf courses and a famous scot golfer too (Colin Montgomerie).

Most advanced Football (Soccer) games will have either Celtic or Rangers atleast.

Colin McRae Rally driving games. He is scottish.

Probably a national team in rugby union games.

Im sure there was a scottish voice option for worms 2.

Probably any simpson game with willy (the caretaker guy)

Almost any name with Highlander in it.

meh, to tired to think of anything else.

Ah yes, good ideas, but I want the Scottish influence to actually be predominant, or very important or significant in some way. The Scotland soccer team is just there because it has to be there, in fact sports games are all like that and it doesn't serve any real purpose for my presentation. Scottish voices in Worms is just there for kicks, it doesn't serve any purpose.

As for Willy, he's more important to the show itself than the game. It doesn't help my case much. Same goes for other stereotypes like Scotty in Star Trek, Fat Bastard in Austin Powers, etc etc.
