i love music and i love to play it loud.
this poses a problem when a song comes on that has a lot of bass in it, which is most of my music. my dresser is about 3.5 feet from my subwoofer and the side of it vibrates when the bass gets too high. i've tried moving the two farther apart but they can't get much father. my woofer is up against the wall and because of the length of my TVs cord, i can't move the dresser any farther.
i would like a way to remedy this because the vibrating can get annoying (especially when hung over, like now for instance). i can't get an extension cord for my TV because we're not allowed to use them at my college and they do random room checks from time to time.
is there any way i can get rid of the vibrations without rearranging my room? maybe if i were to put a sheet over the dresser to absorb the sound?

Try moving the subwoofer away from the wall a little.

also, subwoofers have magnets in them, right? would it be ok to put the woofer on top of my tower? i mean, it's been right next to it since the beginning of september and nothing has happened so i don't think it'll be a problem if i put it on top.

err, sorry, i guess i wasn't specific in my description of my room layout. when i say it's against the wall, i mean that it's as far away from my dresser as possible. besides, my walls are made from cinderblock so i doubt that they vibrate, heh.

Hang Dynamat on all of your walls, use it as carpet, and put it on your ceiling.

That out to kill any vibration you have. Its also completely unfeasable and rediculously expensive.

and it also wouldn't prevent my dresser from vibrating.

i'm pretty sure that the bass comes out of the back of my subwoofer so it's already facing the wall. i tried putting my woofer on top of my tower (as mentioned earlier) but my dresser still vibrated. i put some shirts underneathe it but it didn't help.

oh well.
