Ok i've been playing WoW for awile now and it's starting to get quite boring, i was wonder which u people like better: WoW or Guild Wars.
I've looked at the screenshots for guild wars and read up on it. It looks pretty good. I am hugely into pvp (hate that stupid "you must play for 40 hours to gain a level" shit) and from what i've read u can jump right into pvping on guild wars. also guild wars is free so again gw seems better. But since i haven't actually played it im not sure.

So which is better

World of Warcraft or Guild wars

PvM, Questing, instances raids etc. ---> WoW, also has okay PvP

Better Pvp, but imo, really bad questing ---> Guild Wars

That is how I see it.

I see it the opposite of weaj, guild wars has very bad PvP in my opinion, but the pvm is actualy hard and challanging (more fun) WoW has great pvp.

just get GW, its prob real chep now anyway (edit $35.00 i think, maybe used version at some store) and no subscription = no commitment.

i hated GW in about 1 week....
WoW i think ill still casually love for the next 3 years.

I have them both, but ironically, my crappy comp cannot handle GW, but can handle WoW. GW is still playable, but every character and monster slows up as a big white and grey metalic blob... kind of takes the fun out of it. I play WoW very seldom, but when i do, i don't ever have the patience to level, so I use my friends chars to farm gold, and make twinks.. I agree that WoW's pvp isn't too great... it was MUCH better before BGs if you ask me, but I would still choose it over GW.

GW is poop imo.

pre-searing [start bit of the game, i think its called that, been a LONG time since i played it] is quite fun and the world looks really nice, but then when you get into the game proper, its all brown for about 200hours... pvp is crappy too. pvm wasnt terrible, but it gets old quick because the attacks are all the same. Think of it like playing through d2 using just normal attacks like bash, conc, vengence, sacrafice etc.. and for casters, think of it like playing through usinf ice blasts and fire bolts..

stick to d2 ofc.

guild wars is really fun for like a week then you get tired of doing the same stuff again and again and again and again nothing changes really....WoW>GW imo

I think it just depends what you like. the type of game you enjoy to play.

They are both total shit. I played GW because I had heard the same things you did, and it just isn't true. The pvp blows ass unless you have a team of coordinated hardcore gamer nerds to run with. The PvM is easy mode imo, but a hell of a lot more fun than WoW. WoW also sucks stiff pecker, I only play that because that is where my clan is. When we move on to Warhammer I will be sooooo happy.

I prefer the pvp in WoW to GW, simply because you can go to a battleground where you actually have an objective other than just slaughtering random lowbies. Don't get me wrong, world pvp is great, but I think the bg's and the world pvp together are much better than ANYTHING GW has to offer.
