cost me 200$. took 2 hours. i am now addicted. i plan to get 3/4 sleeves on both arms. for anyone who doesnt know what that means: a sleeve is a full arm piece, from shoulder to wrist. 3/4 sleeves are from shoulder to about 4 inches above your wrist. im sure ill eventually get some on my chest and back as well, after some laser hair removal.

did it hurt? yes, slightly. it was more like someone dragging a sharp piece of wire across your skin. after a while, it went numb. atleast in places where it was being concentrated more. as he went along, i could still feel some discomfort, but i have a high threshhold for pain (hell, the last couple teeth iv had pulled at my dentists, have been done without freezing). it all really depends where you get it done. inner thighs, inner arms, spine, those are all painful areas. biceps, shoulder blades, forearms, calves, etc are less painful.

to anyone thinking about getting a tattoo. put some thought into it. LOTS of thought. research the shit out of what you want to get, the place you want to get it (the tattoo parlor, i mean). draw up sketches and take it in to have the tattooist draw his version. he will be, after all, the one essentially drawing it on you, so his style will shine through, no matter how many pictures you give him to copy.

and last but not least, and for the love of the imaginary god, DONT say "that looks cool, i want that". get something that you arent going to regret 10 years from now. something that means something to you, something that you arent going to think "god, why did i get this" every time you see it in the mirror. tattoo removal is a) expensive b) painful, more painful than getting the tattoo. one form of tattoo removal involves a laser exploding the ink in your pores. c) scaring. youll have a scar in the shape of the tattoo, and thats something youll have to live with, just the same as a tattoo. not to mention, from what i hear, its not just 1 session, but multiple sessions to remove just 1 tattoo. anywhere from 10 to 30 sessions.

so make sure you put some thought into anything you want to get, and then get it!!!. i spent about 2 months designing this one myself. i usually look at pictures off of the BME website, and then use them to influence me and help my design. i dont plan to EVER copy someone elses tattoo.

i was thinking about getting a tattoo about a year ago. i had all sorts of designs and such (i really got into it). i decided to put it off for awhile to see if i still wanted it a year from then. after thinking long and hard, i came to the conclusion that i probably wouldn't want it when i'm in my 40s. i mean now it would kick ass but down the road i have a feeling that i would regret it.
oh, and the tattoo i was thinking of would have been a dragon spiraling down my forearm or a dragon on my left shoulder blade.

no, not marines damnit. it has nothing to do with the marines. atleast i had no clue it did til after i got it, so as far as im concerned, my tat doesnt have anything to do with them. i was looking through this website and found it.

it looks pretty sweet. I will probably never get a tattoo because i just change m mind so often, gaurenteed less than 6 months after getting it i would hate it.

eh, whatever, you have your opinion. i have mine. and i could name some VERY disgusting things i have seen in the name of "body modification". my friend dirk is getting BRANDED soon. yes, branded, with a hot iron. and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

yeah, this guy i used to work with has his frat's letters branded on his arm. i think it's pretty sick looking, and not sick in the good way. i'd say tattoos are much better than brands.
