But seriously, Blue Ray DVD Players = $1000

PS3 = $600

If you want to play High Definition DVDs, buy a PS3.

I will not be buying a PS3, but if my dad does want to get a blue ray DVD player, I'll suggest he get a PS3 and save some cash.

And as to the popularity of blue ray DVDs, are you the technology expert that will guide our society through the ages?

When VHS came out there was a competitor to it. It lost. I think when it comes down to it in the Toshiba vs Sony war, Sony will win.

i heard, from someone who is much smarter in technology than I, that the blu-ray technology works great for DVDs

BUT

for the PS3 the games will be crisper and better looking-more in depth due to more space...faster due to more space(sort of like added Ram)
however, if i buy game(at $100) and play it on my PS3. and then i take it to my friends house to play (on his ps3). if he wants to buy the game and play it again on his PS3 it will have problems, i.e. might not work at all. blu-ray disks+ps3 hardrive(and other hardware)=a bad combination apparently.

so basically you buy a game and own the one disk for one ps3 for life, if this bad wish is true.

as for my pick(even if this isnt true) would be wii, price and gameplay+the selection of games...
ofcourse i still have a nintendo64 hooked up in my dorm room Smile

Grim, I think you mean HD-DVD. Blu-Ray will be the new standard, because of the PS3.
