And the results are in:

O_oKnight and I dueled both our lvl 18 pallies and our lvl 9 sins.

Level 18 Pally Duels
I was trying out some different charms to see what worked best, and I lost the first 3 of 4 duels or so. The 1 duel I won was when I used 3 15 life scs instead of the different GCs I was switching between when I lost (6/ar/fhr GC, 6/ar/3dex GC)

So I decided to stick with the 3 15 life scs. I then won the next 6 or 7 duels in a row. Then I suggested for fun to duel with sacrifice only. I won 2 out of 2 duels where we did sac only.

Total approximate win tally (I lost count after a while):

Knarl: 9-10 wins, 3 losses
O_oKnight: 3 wins, 9-10 losses.

Level 9 Assassin Duels
This time we both had Hsarus' Boots and belt on for most of these duels. Most of the duels really fluctuated. Either he got owned hard, or I got owned hard. There were only like 2 duels where it was really close.

Total Win/Loss Tally (I kept track this time):

Knarl: 7 wins, 4 losses.
O_oKnight: 4 wins, 7 losses.

There was one duel, one of the last ones...where it was so close it was incredible. I ended up winning, but I survived with exactly 1 life left. That was a nail-biter. Razz

Conclusion
Melee duels are very random. Rolling Eyes

Sometimes I would win unscathed, other times I would hardly hit Knight and I would get destroyed, rarely would it be down to the wire. The pally duels were generally closer than the asns duels were though. Also, maybe it's just a coincidence, but a lot of times, position had a deciding factor on the outcome of the duel. Like, if he was above me on the map, I would lose more often than I would win. And vice versa. Kinda weird, but interesting nonetheless.

Also, I encouraged him to join these forums instead of just guesting all the time because in game, he acts a lot different than what most of us see him do on these forums...which is basically a lot of boasting and bragging.

But during the 45 minutes or so that we dueled, he never once displayed any hostility or bad mannered actions towards me. We were able to talk laughingly about the randomness of the duels and discuss gear choices and charm selection, etc...He seems to have a good knowledge of the game and after you talk with him for a bit, the ego he displayed in previous posts on these forums is pretty much non-existant.

I think because of the impression that he gave everyone on these forums when he first posted...about how his lvl 18 pally is the best, etc...we judged his personality based solely on that, and many people jumped on him and took an immediate disliking to him. The only reason I didn't jump on him was before he started the bragging posts on these forums, I dueled and talked with him for a bit online, and he wasn't anything like his first posts made him out to be. He was just a nice guy with some above-average characters that hadn't (until this time) found anyone to give him any competition, so he was very confident in his abilities.

Now that I've been able to defeat him, I think he realizes now that he acted foolishly on these forums...no one should ever assume that he/she is the best...because someone will always be able to one-up you somehow.

He told me that he will try and keep the bragging stuff out of his future posts and become a more useful member of this site. And I hope that when he joins as a member here that we will forgive his past posts as a guest because he really is a nice person once you are able to get to know him a little better.

And we had our rematch after he distributed all except 15 stat points which he is saving in case he changes equip:

15 duels total.

13 zeal duels, 2 sac duels.

Knarl: 10 zeal wins, 3 zeal losses, 1 sac win, 1 sac loss.
O_o: 3 zeal wins, 10 zeal losses, 1 sac win, 1 sac loss.

u used 16 stats for your dueler?

geez... thats not handicap.. that giving knarl a silver platter with your ass on it Wink
