so i got bored while playing d2 (seems to happen a lot lately) when some lvl 46 joins named wolf_sin. and i started thinking, "a sin cant be a wolf can it? no, but it can be a bear. wonder if it would be any good."

so the question is... would it? or perhaps i should ask if it would be fun Razz

max venom, high bos, fort, beast (obviously), junk like that. could possibly get mad-high ias. ideas/comments? (and dont tell me that it wont compete with not good chars, im not an iddieot) i'd probably make it as low as possible (whatever lvl req beast is most likely, ~63)

A bear sin is the fastest attacking build in the game. It is the only build that can reach 2 fps.

You'd use 2x

3Soc Greater Talons or Quickness, and put 3x shaels in them... giving you 100ias on both claws.

haha, thats hilarious. i'd need to stack some crushing blow then. i was planning on just attacking with the beast, figured some fanat would do me good. too bad i wouldnt be able to use dragon claw in bear form. i guess nobody knows any exact ias bps for this type of build eh?

edit: i tried to figure out some ias bps just with my eyes like i usually do with my OTW builds (like my zerkadin) but this was just freakin impossible haha. it looks like using 1x 100 ias weapon is faster than 2x 100 ias wpns, but im 99.9% sure thats just because using the 2 claws makes my bear attack with light speed. anyone think of any ways to figure out how much ias i actually need to hit 2 frame attack? i think i might actually make this char haha

Remember, off-hand IAS does not help, so burst of speed won't help you... neither will fana.

I'm 99% sure you need both claws to be 100ias claws with -30 base if you're dual wieling (which you should be).

Max Claw mastery/claw block/venom/fade and another fun skill lol.

so, i only actually need 1 weapon? and i dont trust regular speed calcs when its not a druid in wereform...
and testing in single, i can see a definate change in speed using 1 or 2 weapons. but good call on the bos

edit: nvm, i didnt realize that wereform central had an option for different char types. not good

edit pt2: on further testing, it almost seems like having 2 claws decreases my chance to hit, like the game cant keep up (whiffing) so 1 claw it is

I have had a BearSin before, they are fun and a little of the wall. A FURY runeword claw makes an outstanding bearsin weapon. Only a 4 frame attack(only!) but nice damage mods. Build it like a WWsin but without wasted points in weapon block. Better off with max damage charms then shadow skillers too.

Btw, ppl pay outrageous amounts for an artisans/jewelers gt or runic w/ 40 ias. It's the only shoppable item I can think of that I have never seen...

I have seen a couple, and the people who made the bear sins said they didn't work well.

Very cool build though.

Yeah, I tried it on single player, and you actually attack too fast imo. You get caught whiffing a whole lot. So I would go for the fury claw like frog suggested, and fyi, 4 frame attack is the best a druid can get in bear form, rofl. It's nice to attack at the same speed as zeal on my fc bear Very Happy

You wont have much for venom dmg is the only problem I could see, so you do have to rely on ow (and cb if you have any) to do a lot of your damage.

i just wanted to see some intense 2 fpa attacks, which i made on single and its hilarious. with ~60% crushing blow it could be devastating. or even if its a -20 claw i can still get 3 fpa. but i'll consider fury

Don't get me wrong, its entirely amusing to watch, it effectiveness in pvp would be kinda iffy though, from what I saw. And yes, 50+ cb on this build would rape melee's, heh.

I don't think this build would have a chance against any melee.

Interruptable attack

Low defense

Low physical damage

I don't think that a 2 frame attack makes up for all that. Also, I'm pretty sure 2 frame attack is buggy.
