Because both smite and conc give the same ed bonus, put 1 into conc and pump smite for the stun bonus?
What would be the weapon of choice? I currently have access to:
30ias/+3holy shield/+1conc war scepter
steel cutlass
steel war scepter w/+2 conc
A war scepter takes 60%ias for 7 frame smite.
A cutlass takes 24% ias for 7 frame smite
A cutlass takes 65% ias for 6 frame smite.
With the 30ias scepter, I can use twitch and bloodfist, leaving room for a life/stat/resist belt, but would leave me without cbf so that is a no-no for me. (I hate it when I figure things out while typing.)
With the steel scepter, I get open wounds, but I'd have to use deaths gloves + belt AND twitch.
With the steel cutlass, I get open wounds as well, AND I have some options. Bloodfist + Artisans armor of the squid for 7 frame, or Deaths + Twitch for 6 frame.
-7 frame cutlass gives me many sockets to play with, but I don't have any jewels at the moment
-I don't get a belt option for any of the setups
-Twitch + Bloodfist gives an additional 60/90 life, depending on my armor. I want that fhr.
-this is a lot harder than I thought.

I would use that scepter , since its pretty kickass , socket it and if you get those 2 sockets than its really nice....shame its not Monk's

look into blood cresent. its a very good unique scimitar with very nice speed.

personally, id put that +3 holy shield scepter on your switch, with a steelclash to prebuff yor defence/smite dmg (but only if the smite dmg transfers over, i heard it doesnt)
otherwise, what level are you going to be? if you;re going to 29-30-31 range (which seems to be the rage now), i suggest socketing that +3 holy shield scepter and praying it gets 2 sockets, then shael it. if you need more ias, shael it again. otherwise a 9dex/-requirements/dtm jewel may be a nice second choice.

I'm going for 28. (Gave away a +2combat/deflecting/fhr barbed to a friend)
Haven't thought of the blood crescent. That thingy looks really tasty. Actually, that somewhat solves all of my problems. According to the open wounds formula, over the complete 200 frames, it will do 78 damage at my level. I made a level 28 smiter on single, and his smite damage was not very high. Does the stun from smite keep me alive?

unless u are in a team or u need to imobilize some minions, the stun is essentially wortheless,,,,
smite will not cause automatic hit recovery,, only the inherint knockback would do that

this is a display error.
if u cast HIGH HS and then take off the HS your dmg still stays... the display is just showing what happens to your dmg IF the HS was lowered.
this error will also show larger dmg
cast HS low... then switch to large amounts of +hs skill.. the display will show the bigger dmg when u simply put on MORE +hs gear...but the dmg really IS NOT getting bigger (yet) u must recasted the new Bigger HS to get that dmg listed
i did this in SP with a paladin and then further tested with an amazon.
with 1Hs she hit 60% blocking and did 100 dmg..
with a +63 switch the LISTED smite was 800... but i didnt kill anything better. when i casted the +63 HS the dmg was ofcourse way better.
when i switched to the shield that only had +1hs the +63HS stayed active and i still did great dmg,, although my display said i was doing only 100 again
funny.. amazons smite using the dodge skill.

Wow, very interesting.
I was under the impression that by prebuffing HS that the duration and the %to block stayed, but the dmg didn't. I guess I'll prebuff with my +3 HS scepter and switch to my longer range monks flail of swiftness when I use my smiter from now on.
