About bidding! |
|
Well I was gonna ask if can we just make a rule about bidding at the last minute..
that happened to me few times!
story goes like this:
auction continues few days..
seller sets a closing date..
bidding goes between few ppl..
last day:
I bid before the closing time.. (like half an hour or so ago)
telling that I'm up for the bid wars..
other bidder bids 1 minute before the exact closing time..
in that case I'm forced to think/type everything in 60 seconds!
well imo this is just not fair and not nice..
if that is good manner what is the difference bidding at exact closing time and winning every single bid? what is the closing date for then?
I need some suggestions or may be a rule that makes the seller to ask the bidders on that post if they gonna bid more or not..
I just feel very annoyed about this!
any ideas?

There should be a cloing time, and maybe if anyone bids after he assigns a time it should be kept open for another 12 hrs (after the set time) incase someone wants to beat the bid?

It's always up to the seller. Most people that I have known always added a few extra hours if someone else bidded, or waited until all the bidders replied with an "I'm out" statement.
On a side note, you haven't used the diabloii.net marketplace in the past, have you? Everything there had a set closing time....those last minute bids were everywhere.

Hmm, good idea but keep in mind that those bidders are there for a while and waiting for the closing time so 12 hours seems too much.
May be 1 or 2 more hours if the buyers keep bidding and noone gave up on the closing time?

It's just like I said earlier Gheed wrote: | It's always up to the seller |
Some people don't like to go back on their word, and consider any bids within the closing time, and others just want to milk you for all you've got. We can't do anything about it. Don't like it? Find someone else to trade with or contact the seller.

Haha, can you really imagine us doing this? We get a lot of complaints as it is concerning how many rules we have, adding one more will just fuel the fire. Like Gheed said, it's out of our hands as to how a seller conducts his business in this manner, sorry.

what you can do is get people to bid in currency. before you bid, you pm the seller with your highest bid, and it goes up in inrements. you know what i mean? kinda like ebay style

So you want a seller-monitored proxy bid. That's really not practical, I think the seller would rather extend the auction by a couple hours.

Well, sadly your ideas makes sense.. Respect can not be shaped by rules anyways..

Just PM the bidder before auction ends to make sure to check back with you, because you really want/need the item and not to close until they hear back from you because imo you will go higher, and therefore making them more rich ^_^
Everyone likes hearing "making you more rich" even if they ont listen to the rest they will hear that :]

BTW..
FUH did get his item even though his bid was after the deadline..out of respect for the seller i wont go into ne details..(unless forced to)
the only way i can see time deadlines working is is with a mechanism set up like ebay that shuts off all bids after a certain time..i dont think thats really necessary in this websight..babys will be babys and men will be men
..work it out!!..

Yes. You are right skulls, but you aren't telling everything. All that happened after few pms between me you and the seller after asking you to talk about it in a priv game.. you let the seller to sell it to me because my bid was higher.. and I was standing there for a deal or new bids on the item.. That trade was done in a mannered way imo.. if you disagree pls share your ideas.. Because I dont have any secrets. I'm after all my words and pm's. We never had bad feelings that I know off.. am I right?
To be honest my only problem is your endless bids coming out of every where, but I can't complain.. I'm just trying to handle it as many others..
P.S: Actually this post is out of the topic but I wanted to clearify the situation.
