with 50% slow some people feel that this is BM

There's a difference between a skill (holy freeze, clay golem) versus an item with a banned mod (Cleg's gloves, General's flail).

Naruto, you are opening a Pandora's box of obnoxiousness. If I put Cleg's gloves on my Throwbarb, I could knock people back and slow them down so effectively that I wouldn't even need to use a shield (or lose a breakpoint). Imagine a LLD guided arrow zon with Cleg's gloves -- no melee character could come close to touching this character.

A holy freeze smiter with Cleg's and General's Flail? Impossible for any other melee character.

So rather than forcing LLD's to outgay each other in order to compete, let's keep the BM items verboten.

I don't think using the slow flail itself is bm, nor does it deserve being NKed. But how and when you use it could be bm, depends on your attitude. The slow flail itself may even bring some balance into certain duels if used properly.

I always think there's no any bm items, or skills, there's only bm person. So, if the only thing you did was politely saying "go" and slow smited the other guy, then he got mad and started to nk you, I would call the other guy bm, not you.

both those builds sound fun, but they get bitched at a lot for making use of slow.

From what I've heard and seen, mei believes anything goes for PvP - any skills, items, straties, whatever; aside from the "red" and "purple" as he so artfully put it, or healing and rejuv pots, more colloquially. West is conservative, East is liberal, but mei is an aspiring anarchist.

Personally, I don't mind slow that much, and I don't think that any skills were inherently BM. I find Holy Freeze and Decrep more irritating to fight against, but anyone can use slow, so it's fair game. Dueling is, however, just a form of sparring than going to war, which is why manners is even considered. We want to test each others limits, not take every measure possible to kill each other, so if the general consensus is that some skills are BM, make it clear before the duel and come to an agreement so playfighting doesn't become a murderfest, which you have apparently seen can happen.

In my experience, popular consensus in LLD seems to agree that any slow (anywhere from items to skills like Slow Missile or Decrepify), Iron Maiden, Bone Prison, Thorns, potting of any type (including antidote and thawing pots), and sometimes even Battle Cry is BM, just so you know.

There will also be people who say that desynching of any sort is BM, too, but against them, disregard any other advice and simply PK, NK, and GS them for their obstinacy to ignorance.
