Soo, today is christmas. Merry Christmas!... Uhm, yeah i just got WoW, as expected, and wanting to make a nice pvp build. I've been searchign the b.net forums lately and found out that at least a few people call the warriro overpowered in PvP. My friends have also said that the rogue and and warlock are also both very good. Any thoughts on trhese calsses, and any thoughtsas to the *best* pvp class? Ty.

what role do u like to play is the real factor.
healer, tank, ranged dps, or melee dps

The PvP guilds mention warlocks, hunters and warriors are considered over-powered ATM. (and paladins as always)
but thats talking about end game, tier X epics and lots of expeirence


theres a big difference between *best pvp 1on1 and vs battlegrounds

pvp 1v1 i would say shaman, as i had a tauren shaman who beat pretty much ANYONE 1v1

Battleground, i would say warlocks, they are just insane for their AoE's

Or if you wanna be cheap, go with a paladin, i hate paladins GRRRR darn divine shield...Its so cheap. -.- But anyways my two cent there.

If you like healing, buffing, being helpful, a shaman is a really good class.

If you want DPS (damage per second) go with a rogue, they are the true slayers.

If you want the most battleground kills possible, you need a warlock.

If you wanna go suicidal and kill half a dozen people at a time, get a paladin.

There ya go ^_^

Warlocks have two AoE's.. do you mean DoT's?

Also, do NOT make a Rogue.. You will NEVER find a group 50+

warlocks have aoes;
rain of fire (looks like sorc blizzard but with fire)
hell fire (looks like barb cries but its fire)

spec for them and the AOE is DESTRUCTIVE!

mages can do the same thing pretty much,, but they have not had a rebalance in a while and are arguably "gimped"
warlocks ARE considered overpowered.
but they are pretty tough to play from what i hear

in guild we alsways put priority on killing locks/mages first.. if they get around a group, thats just a bad situation.. especially if its our healers

I still love Tauren Shamans <3 They are god ^_^ Unless a pally comes.. then they are food =/

Warlocks own with their AoE's. Mages may have more, but the mages arnt as strong, warlocks pretty much beat them all around. Warlocks last alot longer, and like Jerkazoid said before, if you spec in them, the warlocks pack a nasty punch.


As a rogue you can find a group after 50 in guild -.- Rogue still have the highest melee dps and therefore are needed, more so in guild raids and such though.

Warrior are pretty nasty, they are about the only thing i dont kill as a shaman (besides better shaman), i can wipe out most, but some just have too many hitpoints darn tanks.


but yeh.. Warlocks = teh battleground ownage

well the point can have nothing to do with survival. it could be a about condeming them to the same hell the lock goes.

hellfire + pyroclasm + intensity
70% uniteruptible.
26% chance to stun 3 seconds every volley (ie every sec)
212 dmg/sec for 15 seconds

a warlock that outputs 212DPS on 5+ enemies +stun is melting faces....especially if its their hearlers Twisted Evil....

and he doesnt have to die at all.

warlock runs in
powerword shield
HoT's
demoinc sacrifice (dmg or life) or fell hunter for resistance
hellfire away!

outputs maybe 10K dmg to a group in a few seconds.... that turns tides in a battle. ...i miss my buddies spec, his AOE was sweeet..

in a well planned situation a lock makes HUGE contributions killing many players, and can still have plenty of life by the time they stop

Every bit of hellfire damage the warlock does, he takes the same.. You'd need 2 priests on a warlock for it to even survive a few seconds.. let alone get anything with Hellfire's crappy range, unless its a warrior or something, even then the warrior can just MS, Execute. not good. Rogue, speed out of the AoE or stun the warlock, paladin, flash heal, stun, or whatever, use that bubble crap, whatever.. The warlock AoE's are NOT good PvP.. PvE is different..

A warlock who loads you up with DoT's and fear's you away is another story, that can be pretty nuts.. you basically have 12-20 seconds to kill the warlock, or you die.

Even if the warlock goes down, he is taking 5-10 people with him so it dosent really matter. Then he just respawns and runs on back, rinse and repeat. Warlocks are slayers.

5-10 people? lol.. Trust me, I have seen warlocks do that, and they MAYBE get one HK.. they DIE before everyone else does, thus no HK.. They do damage to the surrounding guys, sure, but they don't KILL them.. You don't get HK's/Honor for damaging someone and dying.

5-10 people concentrating ALL of their attacks or atleast the majority on ONE Warlock going kamakazi, on top the the self inflicting damage of the good AoE.. Even if priests were healing they'd have no way to keep the warlock alive long enough to see the actual deaths..

Warlocks are better off standing back close to priests/mages and DoT'ing as many things as they can, and then playing the survival game until the time ticks down and the pug's die from their DoT damage, or someone else finishes them off.

The only way the AoE thing MIGHT work would be if you had the Sacrafice shield up and soul link, and then you wouldn't have the Stun/70% uninteruptability.. And then you have no minion, and crappy damage due to the lack of destruction talents, so it's not worth it anyway.

Of course if you were in a group of like 15-20 vs 15-20 and everyone was going nuts and fighitng whichever targets, then this AoE thing might be good, but then you might as well be a mage or even a hunter.. Mage runs in, Arcane Arcane Arcane Arcane, hits all 15 targets, teleports out and then Flamestrike/blizzards the rest would own the PANTS off of Warlocks just hoping to god someone doesn't attack them while they Hellfire..

its done for the reasons stated. we are not pulling it out of our ass.

a zerg rush on 15-20 people in AV the AoE's turn battles.
HK's or not that isnt the point of playing Alterac valley for 4 hours (youd do AB for your honor grinding for high value HKs)

mages kamakazi but the warlocks can do it better in many situations. (they also DONT go in first.. they wait for the battle to get insane and then run in)

why else do teams instantly need to change focus and fire on a mage/lock when they see them running in during the heat of battle? you fire on mages/locks onsite, you never ignore them BC they are so potent.

i think when we say 5-10 meaning thats how many u hit.

a group of 15-20 is not standing right ontop of eachother, youll get 50% of them at best

thats why I think a mage is better at that type of stuff.. mage can hit em ALLLL. AoE with no cast time? Weeeeee.
