So after work me and a friend were cleaning up his room and we stumbled across the doom 2 multi act cd. So we dload it into the computer, being the classic it is, and it runs fine(hehe, cmd screen). But once in the game and near any movement it becomes horribly laggy. Its not connected to the intarweb nor are they crappy or slow computers. The vid cards in both are good and new and so are the sound cards, soundblasters in both.

Anyone know why it would do this?

Horrible lag at any opposing movement

It could be that the PC's are too good.

You could change the compatibilty of the game so its like its running on a windows 95 or whatever.

Right click the doom shortcut then properties, then the compatibilty tab.
Then you can change things around and see if it works.

Never done this before, but i think it could work, good luck. Very Happy

Maybe the disc is messed up....

I wish my computer was too good and that was the reason for my problems Sad

haha too good

you could go into bios and change you cpus clock speed to way way low but i really doubt thats the problem

doom 2 was made for a dos based platform where as xp and 2k have pretty much nothing to do with dos lots of older gamews made for 98 will not work on xp or 2k

if you really want to play it make a dual boot for your computer and have like xp and 98 and use 98 to play your classic games
