Yet I have no idea. I dont go to any other d2 sites then this and gamefaqs, so it wasnt a trojan I downloaded. I use different passwords. Only one of my accounts, my most exspensive one though. I dont trust any of my friends with my password... weird. I was plannin on quittin anyways though... I guess this was the final straw. I'm gonna make a list of what I lost that was important

Well I still have another pair on diff acct, but I'm not sure if that accts gonna be safe. Luckily my LLD is untouched.

The only way you can get "hacked" is if u r bruted or some1 guesses your pass. If your password was short, it could probably be easily bruted. If it didnt have numbers, probably easily guessed.

Basic common sense should keep you safe on the e-mail front. As far as sites go, doing some basics like keeping windows updated, antivirus updated, using an anti-spyware prog (Spybot or Adaware), and not using Internet Explorer (use Firefox, Opera, etc) will generally keep you safe. Well, unless you go to the seediest porn websites known to man 24/7. Even so, you said you don't go to any other D2 related sites besides this one and Gamefaqs. I doubt any other site would really have knowledge of D2 so that leaves your e-mail. Again though, random spam generally doesn't know about your D2 habits.
I doubt you were brute forced, you can only try so many times before bnet locks you out for awhile. Given the amount of time it takes, it could take a very very long time. Also, you would have seen alot of failed login attempts.

I'd wager that in the vast majority of account theft cases that the culprit is someone that knows you.
