I first started with D&D. Not AD&D. My DM actually has the original AD&D pamphlets they handed out at the gaming convention where AD&D started (back in 1975, the year I was born). She's a serious, old school p&p gamer, and a great DM. We still occasionally break out 1st edition AD&D (no non-human clerics!) for old school dungeon crawls.
I have the "pre-release" teaser packets they sent out to the gaming shops announcing 2nd ed. AD&D. I remember how excited I was in the months approaching the release. However, even though I grew up on 1st and 2nd edition AD&D, I really liked 3.5. It was well put together and supported, even if it did lose a lot of D&D's flavor.
Sorry - off topic. But speaking of D&D - has anyone ever found a D&D-based computer game *other* than the Baldur's Gate series that didn't royally suck? I really liked the Baldur's Gate games - especially the PS2/Xbox game. It was a nice touch that the elven magic-user was a hot female elf that wore a thong. Perfectly in character to appeal to gaming nerds.

Earthbound is the greatest RPG ever, without a doubt.

I understand where this thread is comming from.. but what about some other great rpgs from todays time?
Such as.. Morrownd <--Probly greatest single player rpg ever to me
Oblivion <--Living up to morrowind and then some.
Everquest <--Greatest MMORPG the world has known
World of Warcraft <-- I hate to put it on this list.. but alot of people love it
Although star ocean2 really kicked some arse, and still to me, i love FFtatics.. out of all of them on that list lol.

well its pretty self explanatory lol but yea its for ps2 only i believe thiers rpg maker1 and rpg maker2 if you cant get the concept from game title basically you make the maps characters story line twists and anything else you want to basicaly and 2nd one is 3d 1st one may be in 2d or 3d or that cartoon crap like viewtiful joe was in i cant really remember. my friend had some rpg maker for ps1 lol he made a fun rpg on that i have yet to try the os2 version myself although ive always wanted to. i rather not buy it since i cant find it to rent at the hollywood i go to

Ahhh...I was hoping this was for the PC. Is anyone familiar with a great (and hopefully easy to use) rpg creator program for the PC?
edit: I should also note that graphics aren't paramount, becaues I think the story line and other features will be enough to suck people in.
