There are many different varients that you can play with the druid. In this thread, I will merely tell you what they are and answer and questions about them. Let's try to keep the spam down **cough**SPAZZ**cough** (j/k I know you will probably go off the deep end Spazz Laughing )

Human Form
Wind Druid
Level 20 Cyclone Armor
-Help against those pesky elemental attackers, and you don't need any resistance gear since cyclone armor is always 0 no matter what.
-Synergy
Level 1-3* Twister
-Twister + Hurricane = stunlock... need I say more?
-Synergy
*-see Oak Sage
Level 7 Tornado
-Your main attacking skill (230-262 - base damage with this setup)
-Synergy to other wind skills
Level 1 Hurricane
-Never hurts to have another source of damage
-Stunlock with twister
-Synergy
Level 1-3* Oak Sage
*The reason for this, is it depends on the amount of +skills you have in your gear. I chose level 3 because its easy to reach level 5 with 2 sojs or soj + magi, and 50% life increase is nice. (Prebuff gear is nice here Very Happy ). I would suggest putting the extra points into Cyclone Armor.

Fire Druid
"Bowler" Druid
Level 20 Molten Boulder
-Your main killing skill Rolling Eyes
-Synergy to Volcano
Level 7 Volcano
-Synergy to Molten Boulder
-May be able to stun runners long enough to get a hit with boulder in
Level 4 Oak Sage
-Gotta love +life Very Happy

As you can see, this build is focused mainly on physical damage, not fire damage. Personally, I believe that elemental damage is too easily absorbed/nullified, so this will allow you to limit their options of stopping you.

"Toaster" Druid
Level 20 Firestorm
-Your main killing skill... SURPRISE!
Level 12 Fissure
-Nice Synergy, makes a nasty trap

You may be saying to yourself, that this is horrible, this build sux0r nubzor. Well, you may be right, but just image you run up in an attempt to take me down, when you hit 3 streams of fire simultaneously at 430-500 damage per second (not counting + skills) then as you run to try and heal BAM you get roasted on my grill of Fissure... Yummy!
note-
Fire is easily resisted, if you lose, no big deal Smile

Werewolf Druid

Fury Werewolf
Level 1 Fury
-Gee, could this be *dun dun dun* your main killing skill?? I'm not sure... let's go do the math... Laughing

Well, the rest is up to you, I don't have much experience with werewolfs, so I will just not say anything hoping not to make myself look like too much of an ignorant fool Very Happy

Feral Rage Werewolf
I dont think these are viable now with such low leeching... move along...

Rabies Druid
Read Knarl's post for more information on this

Werebear Druid

Shockbear
Uses shockwave combine with minions. These are very, very underpowered now because minions took a big hit in the patch...

Mauler
No mana leech = no power. Maulers run out of mana and mostly die... although they are still dangerous... very very very dangerous!

Fire Claws Bear
I put this one under Werebear for one simple reason, 4/5 frame attacking.
Level 8 Fire Claws
-Your main killing skill
Level 20 Firestorm
-Synergy

Notes*
1. These build leaves no room for a spirit, tweak it if you really want one
2. Major mana problems
3. Easily Resisted

Use a 6 shael crowbill and 6 shael Grim Scythe for your weapons and to achieve the fastest breakpoints.

There you have it, let me know if I missed anything you feel I should include.
Thanks!

I just have something to add about the rabies/fury druid...

I finished mine, and have concluded a few things.

1. Fury dmg is kinda low (mines 102-983...it used to be considerably lower with p crown). You'll need real good charms and some +skills to bring up the dmg enough to compete.

2. It is possible to get ~2.5-2.8K psn dmg with rabies depending on +skills. It works pretty well vs. people with less than perfect psn resist, and it still hurts deaths hand wearers...just not enough to rely heavily on.

3. You attack very fast and mana has not been a problem for me at all yet. AR is quite high from the bonuses from +rabies and +fury, along with max/ar/xxx charms of course.

4. Resists are real low. But you can get pretty high life so it's not too bad I suppose.

My current build is:

+3 Fury helm with 3 15 max jewels
Eye of Etlich (for the +skill, don't have a +druid skill ammy hanging around)
Whitstans
Spirit Shroud
6 shael crowbill
Bloodfist
SoE
Sanders boots
2 SoJs

He does:
102-983 fury with 4884 AR
56-543 (bite dmg) / 2315-2545 Rabies psn dmg with 5642 AR
71-684 Feral rage dmg (base slvl) with 4415 AR

909 Life with HoW, or 1220 with Oak.

His Skills are 1 oak, 1 HoW, 14 psn creeper, 1 WW, 1 Lyc, 1 feral rage, 13 rabies, 1 fury.

So I suppose the build is pretty viable, but my main concern is the relatively low fury dmg. I suppose it's pretty good for lvl 30, but compared to a lvl 29 zealot or something...well...I guess I'll have to duel a good pally to find out for sure.

I think a really good druid melee build would be a Fury/Feral rage WW. Concentrate pts into feral rage, HoW, 1 in fury, rest in Lyc and WW. I think that would do a ton of dmg...of course...a Maul druid is also VERY good still, just slap a couple SoJs on him for mana upkeep and they can do lots of dmg very fast still.

Also, I believe a 4 shael/2 hel grim scythe reaches the fastest break (at least it does on a maul werebear since that's what my .09 bear had)

The weapon speed calculator i use shows maul only hitting 6 frames with that weapon... yeah, it doesnt hit the fastest breakpoint (checked two calculators)

And Spazz, you complain that nobody has a sense of humor and you are kidding around most of the time, yet you are the one with the least amount of humor in your entire body... I would be surprised if you have a funny bone.
p.s. stop filling my thread with spam Spazz

Saying that I post spam in your thread, when your posting up useless stuff that everyone already knows.. Ok. I spam.

I don't think it's funny to go "cough spazz cough" when I've hardly posted lately.. Knarl wrote in "done" 10 times in the registration forum the other day. Omg, thats so spammish. Who the hell cares? God. Just die.

I hate you.

Fire Claws druids aren't that bad as long as people don't stack fire resistance. I think I read somewhere that Fire Claws is unblockable or something like that... could anyone clarify this?

Also, mana could be a big problem with this build...

I have briefly tested fire claw with a lvl 80 some druid, fire claw is blockable, at least for the physcial damage part, but I am not very sure about the fire damage.

Maul druid is still very good, if not the best melee type, mana wouldn't be a problem if you use Angelic which has % damage goes to mana.

Is shock bear with minions really suck that badly? Did anybody test it in the field or you are just saying it because of 1/6 penalty of minion vs player? I am thinking of making one, but if someone had tried and it did suck.......

minion vs player is 17%,, player vs minion is 100%,,, so leech is somewhat viable their.

at 1500 dmg a volley thats 120 life each attack for me.. and im a crappy kicker.

But.. I have yet to see how the stun effect really works,, and im curious how a zealer would handle that.
