Magic resist shield worth it? |

I've just crafted a deflecting mod, 10%magic resist, mdr 2, fire res 14
level 28 require kite shield. I've also made a few others but none with deflecting and 10%. My question to you guys is, do you think it's worth it to take out whichever shield you are using to use this 10%magic resist/2 mdr shield vs necros and hammerdins in LLD?

you might as well.
either that or try to boost your dmg or whatever else with a 3 sock shield..
in the scope of things 10% isnt much, its probably better to just boost your dmg a bit more,

10% is kind of a lot. its perfect for what you can get on them o.O my friend's hammerdin does 2,000 hammer and what's that for pvp dmg?
340?
then 10% of 340 is 34
so saving you 34 dmg everytime you get hit if you get hit 3 times that's already 100 life saved. i still dunno if its worth it though. maybe with 15 mdr string and 15 mdr viper + this shield you could get mgc dmg down a bit

just remember MDR factors fisrt.. i think.. thats a good question
yes
if u have 1000 life, then 10% res is saving you 100 life.
could the shield give u 100 life? no ofcourse not..
but could it raise your dmg more then 10% of what it was?.. possibly,, for paladins the answer is easy a 4 sock 65% shiled is big part of their dmg

i dunno if i was a pally i would stick to my 4 socket shield but any other melee char i think i would want a 15 max'd 2 mdr 10%mgc resists shield over a 30 max vbsod. what do you think about caster though? think sorc should use it over visc, vs a necro? or should a necro use it over his head? probably not, or a hammerdin over his.. +1, deflecting mod shield?

once my friend's lvl 35 necro comes on im gonna test using the mgc res shield vs not using it on my healer o.O see how much it makes a difference

I tried it vs a lvl 35 white necro and it saved me about 40 life per hit average. I don't know if I can think of a better shield to use vs necro o.O
Either a 30 max magic shield, 15 max shield that saves you 40 life per hit, or 45 max plain shield. or for a sorc between 1 sorc skill or 40 life per hit i dunno. i think it's a good shield now that i tried it out

i'm spamming my own thread now but i tested vs a hammerdin with 1961-1990 dmg so not much difference between max and min... and it saved me 45 life once, 65 life 2nd time, and 100 life the 3rd time.

Well, I'd obviously keep it!
Hammerdins, however, are fairly easy to kill though >_> unless they get smart and see what you're trying to do.
With enough life, 10% reduction would be allowing you to take several more hits than usual.

ya, well i'm teaching this hammerdnif riend of mine how to use his hammerdin, even though i've never used one myself i oddly know how to us eone without tele pretty super well. so soon enough he should be working pretty well, i think he will be able to beat any char but a good necro, he was dueling a white necro in a game i was just in though and he beat him a few times

I've found that Alt + Click with Teleport will allow you to perfectly Teleport right below the Hammerdin, which I can CS them
Against White Necromancers, though... You'll just be trapped again and again if you're trying to reach them.
