Anyone have a good MLD necro build handy? After taking my necro to 35 and not really liking him, I may just go to 42 to use Homonculus and skillers, but I'm wondering if there's a whole build out there I could peruse.

Well, let me actually just ask this: what items would I use at 42 that I wouldn't be using at 35? Skills are pretty obvious, so I really just need item input. Here's what I use at 35:

Helm: Peasant Crown w/ruby (probably going to Shael after I lose my Spirit)
Armor: Vipermagi w/ruby (same as above)
Weapon: 33% Spirit (going to make a White when I get a good base wand)
Shield: +3 Spirit, +2 Decrep Rhyme'd head (going to Homonculus? Or maybe make Splendor instead?)
Weapon 2: 16 Meditation Insight battle staff
Belt: SoE
Gloves: Magefists
Boots: Waterwalks
Ammy: +2 PnB rare
Rings: 2x SoJ

Any suggestions on items I would be switching? I know I need more FCR (I should be hitting the 99% bp - I currently hit the 75%), but short of losing the SoJs and SoE, I'm not how I could do that.

Sorry ive been kindof slacking on the thread Dao heres how i see it

at lvl 35 your the vlld of mld which means you will see a difference between that and lld but it will basicaly play like a pub lld

35 your bonus is white
at 42 you get homonc and skillers
should you go up to 55 you would get: hoto thats your breakpoint for fcr 30-40 resists and +3 skills granted youll be loosing out on some damage but at that lvl it will be high eniough anyway..

id have to say dueling at mld with a necro would be hard
necro<lvl 65 = no nigma = no tele = not good vs mele
therefore id say it would be important to go for max block over using homonc...with humonc you would block like 5 percent of the time meaning basicaly no block... so id say keep extra soj in stash for vs casters and throw on a raven to get your dext a little higher... make a sanctuary with the best shield you can hold and throw a few points into dext as well hopefully you would get up to past 60% if not to max.

with casters you could use the humonc and the other soj and just go for killing speed. also it might be worth your while to put 1 point in skellies with your + skills youd have quite a few and they will hold off fohers and trappers quite nicely =)

so if you want to think this over and repost when you have your build worked out ill think it over as well

35 necs work great dont go all spirit though spear has about the same use at lvl 35.

white wand rhyme that killer nec head. get a decent circlet/ammy and your set. plenty of frw is essential should be hitting 900+ life fairly easily

I Dunno if its just me but with a 35 Necro I'd Rather go for Spirit with white you only get a bit more dmg but with Spirit you get a unbelievable amount of extra bonuses such as FHR/Mana/Life Which Basically > More Skills

I was just thinking about mld (I have a barb, pally, an unequipped ww sin). Would a MLD singing barb be viable? I looked at Dao Jones' HLD singer post for some help, but its a bit different. I used to have a lvl 33 singer, and he was really fun, except that he ran out of mana very fast. He was pretty good at taking out casters who dont tele though; highest he killed was a 82 tal rasha sorc I think. I'm guessing if I were to make him, he'd be purely anti-caster.

Helm: Arreats or Shako?
Weapons: Dual HOTO (or maybe spirits if I wanna be cheap..but I'm NL)
Ammy: +3 wc, or maybe Chaos Noose?
Gloves: Magefist, or Frostburns?
Belt: No idea.
Armor: Not sure of a good caster armor at this level
Boots: Waterwalks?
Rings: SOJ's/Raven

That would be pretty hard, I guess, since there's no enigma. I'm not even that serious about making it; i'm just throwing ideas out.

I had a brief stop over at mld with the Singer before I kept moving him on. and he didn't do amazingly well there. Breakbeatz just posted two suggested builds in my thread which, although they have some gear you can't get at mid-levels, gives you a pretty good idea of what you're looking for. I won't repost the info here, but if that thread fails to inspire you I'm sure I could cough up a few suggestions. (Although I'm sure you'll think of the same stuff I would - maybe even better. )

yeah that setupe looks fine some other gear options to consider:

Duress boneweave = very nice damage mods - 10-15% ed/Cb/Ow and resists

if you take the char up to 49 which is more typical

+130-160% Enhanced Defense (varies)
