Level 30 Hammerdin.

I just got a really cool circlet for him, so I think I'm going to give it a whirl and see just how hard it is to kill ranged characters.


His gear will be as follows:

Helm: Rare Circlet. +2 Combat skills, 30 FRW, 20 FCR, +5 resist all, 5 dmg reduced (I will P ruby it most likely)
Ammy: +1 pally, 10 FCR, 40 life, 37 cold resist, 25% psn length reduced
Armor: P ruby VIPERMAGI
Shield: Rare Akaran Rondache. +1 pally, 30/20 blocking, 90 ed (~262 def), prismatic resists (22 resist all, 41 fire resist...will be p diamonded probably for ~40 resist all and 60 fire resist)
Belts: Rare w/ 17 FHR, 4 str, 59 life, and deaths belt when I need it
Gloves: Magefist
Rings: 2 SoJs
Boots: Sanders
Weapon: WS of the Apprentice
10% FCR
+1 Vigor
+2 Conc
+2 BH

I'll probably socket the scepter with some sort of str and/or dex jewels, maybe with some dmg to mana.


My charms are going to be probably 10-12 5% frw/mana SCs, some assorted life/mana SCs, and the rest would be 14-15 life SCs (whatever I'm not using on all my other characters )

Skills, I'm planning on:

1 HB
13 BH
1 Smite
1 Charge (movement/desynch)
1 HS
1 Might
2 BA
13 Conc

I would get vigor from my scepter. It should be lvl 5 or so with my items on. Seems pretty cool to me. He should have 120-130% FRW, plus vigor and charge, max block, 75+ resists, 900+ life, plenty of mana, etc... Any suggestions on how to make improvements before I make it?

Atomic has a nice wep, for hammers, maybe some other person from west might have same thing..

I like my scepter because it saves me 4 points by not having to invest in vigor (3 prereqs, and 1 into vigor itself), so I can put more into conc and BH.

theres only 1 other option i can think of

the possibly of ditching the magefists for something else (bloods or frosties?) and making a low level caster belt.

im sure u could get a decent enough belt with some ok mod* that ud like within 15 tries.... and that would have to hit 75% total bc the lowest it can be is 5%fcr anyway along with some mana and regenerate

* one or two of the following:

3-5str
17% fhr
11-20% single res
11-20 extra mana
25% psn length reduction

I know I have a halfway decent <30 req caster belt somewhere that I could use. I'll have to see if it's worth using magefist or not, and if frosties or bloods would really help all that much.

with good +skills gear you can hit 1.8k per hammer

and you HAVE to have charge for movement, hammerdins just dont work well offensively without it (hey who can resist charge running with over 400 mana to kill) anyway just load up on mana and use charge to move cuz frw items other than your boots and vigor do not affect your charge running speed (not many peeps can out run charge) so i would ditch the r/w charms for more life or mana or both

So it would actually do more damage to max blessed aim than conc?
