Ok while me and meitou finished testing that claw range problem thingy, we wanted to fool around with this "melee killing caster" thing (This isnt gonna happen for a long time I'm sure =/). I said smiter or kicksin was best for killing casters. He said no cuz wind druids would kill, which he prompty brought his wind druid (stripped). I told him to use some skills cuz my comp sucks and lags a lot, so he randomly fired tornados in different directions while I stood still. Then we both saw my asn block a tornado! Now here we go...

We tried to see if it was fhr or some sort of bug. I stood there with shield on, and he counted the amount of tornados needed to kill me. We both saw my asn go into block animation constantly (with no "clank" sound). Then we tried it without shield (same everything but resists, which don't matter) and I died much quicker (i.e. 8 times with shield, 5 times without)
We kept trying this over and over, yielding same results. It seems that tornado can in fact be blocked without the use of weapons block dual claws, though we are not quite sure yet. The block is obviously not 75%, as every time I block I still get hit 1 or 2 times.

There might even be a formula on how to calculate this blocking percentage. Maybe it even blocks other skills!

Yes, tornado can be blocked. That's old news.

There's nothing mysterious about it.

Test environment: battle net

Test Characters: druid lvl 30 tornado damage 230-262
Asn lvl 30 1032 life no DR no life regeneration

Test Method: Asn carry enough Life Pots, Standing face to face with Druid. Druid set tornado to be right hand skill, right click on Asn's name to release tornado. After certain number of hits, record the number of hits and the remaining life, asn drink pots to regain full life. Then test another round.

Test 1: Weapon block's effect on Tornado

Conclusion: Weapon Block can block Tornado, 50% weapon block can block about 50% of Tornado hits.



Test 2: Shield's effect on Tornado

Conclusion: Shield can block Tornado, I suspect it can only block 1/3 of it's listing block rating when blocking Tornado though, that means with the 75% shield blocking, you can actually block 25% of Tornado hits.
